tradeskilling

I may be wrong, but as far as I understand, and I'm going to admit I maybe 100% wrong, but will help me If I had an understanding on how things work If someone take their time explaining things to me. I'm very confused about trade skilling In the areas that affect me. This comes from comparing Tailoring to Blacksmitthing. To my understanding all the high end Items you get from Tailoring are comparable to a tier 1-2 or maybe 5 with the mantle of the forest(wich is better than the amice of seclusion). Tailoring most items drop(if not all) from zones that are very good and commonly used exp zones. Blacksmitthing made items are really worse and can't even compare to the drops from the yard trash mobs in PoT, infact the Breastplate is jsut a tad better than the Warlord's Breastplate(sure has more svs, but no proc same AC and about same HP). I have talked to perkins several times adn I been getting his feedback and he says that smitting is terrible and he goes further in details. I remember when Wyvernhide was the main thing people will twink their alts with and was best for the money, I think that Smitting should do the same for thsoe who can wear it. So far I seen tradeskill Items done by blacksmitthing sold dirt cheap, except for the high end that Perkins can do, but they are really not worth the price tag nor the difficulty to obtain, since some of the drop items drop off RAID zones with a huge timer on, unlike easy exp spots like tailoring items. I have cleared trash in PoT for several days and only seen 2 bricks drop, people who complain about the drop rate in ancient treant leafs (which can be single farmed) apparently have not been farming PoT for twisted ores. So this what I dont understand, why Blacksmitthing is so hard and unrewardable, I think for its difficulty should be just as good as tailoring for the people who can use this.

Dear god....use paragraphs...

I do however agree with your point that tailored items do seem to be of a better quality than the smithed items for classes that can wear them.

As of later today all tradeskilled armor will have two augment slots.

Smithed stuff will be looked into balance wise (at least anything below deepmetal, as deepmetal is the best crafted armor around).

In reguards to the "higher end" of the 2 tradeskills, there isnt much contest Tailoring has better items. Blacksmithing ends with deepmetal, which is ok but for the difficulty to get doesnt compare to imp hide, and shadowsilk is a step above the rest. Throw in the 2 ubber tailoring items and it becomes even more clear cut. Blacksmithing needs some help if its meant to be on par with tailoring.

That's cool :) So you could really heap a lot more Ac on it as well with a couple augs. Awesome...

Deepmetal Platemail Breastplate
AC 38
SVMAGIC +10
STR, STA, AGI, DEX, CHA +7
HP/MANA +85

Imp Hide Tunic
AC 27
SVALL +2
STR, STA +4
AGI, DEX +8
INT, WIS +5
HP +85
MANA +10

Shadow Silk Shirt
AC 20
SVALL +5
STR, STA, DEX, AGI +1
CHA, INT +12
HP +60
MANA +100

Out of curiousity, how much better is deepmetal going to have to be than imp hide to be worth it in your opinion. A million ac and two million hp? :what:

Deepmetal isnt nearly as accessable as Imp Hide is though. Do you have any way of knowing how many Imp Hide Tunics there are on the server compared to Deepmetal BPs? Also, whats the best Chain BP that can be blacksmithed?

Yes, that would be the reason it is much much better as evidenced by the stats. :psyduck:

The best chain BP is just like the plate BP sans a few points of ac.

I'm saying the availibility isnt the same in terms of access to things needed for the combine with respects to imp hide and shadowsilk highlighting a disparity between the two. Also, does smithing have any "ubber" combines such as mantle of the forest or rabe of flowing water (or whatever it is, forget exact name).

The item is harder to make thus it is better. Is this logic somehow failing to penetrate your skull?

Does this apply to just Tailoring and Smithing items or will it include Jewelcrafting items also?
