Tradeskilling and selling

I've been in the game a couple of weeks now. I have always loved tradeskilling and buying player-made items. I've spent literally thousands of hours tradeskilling in both EQ games. I noticed that there are some "hired" venders in the game but they are so expensive to use that the players that can afford to have them aren't interested in selling hand-made gear or tradeskill components... only high-end looted gear that they can sell for a lot of money in order to cover the cost of renting the vender.

I'm sure there is a good reason why the venders are so expensive that only high level players can use them, but I think it would be nice to have an area somewhere in the game that has venders that low level players can use to sell their hand-made gear and/or tradeskill components so that tradeskilling can be fun in this game.

Also I'd like to say I've really enjoyed this game so far and want to thank all those hard working people that keep it running. I will definately be donating to help keep it alive.

vendrs should cost according to what their traffic is.
i.e:
SNP, 1k
oggok, 750
halas, 500
Grobb, 400
TM, 300

something like that, anyway.

I agree. The cost of a vendor in any zone other than newport is hardly worth it unless you have shitloads (crap-tons for those using the metric system) of gear to sell to every level range. I agree that the pricing scheme should change a tad. At least then it would give more people incentive to hire vendors in the other cities and potentially draw other people (shoppers) to those cities. Please consider. As it is there's a lot of vendors with a lot of garbage on them being used as extra bank space. :p

I like this idea. I could be kept as tradeskill-only, or implemented as a universal, cheap vendor solution. Just include vendors with a location restriction and a very low cap on max item price.

This would give lower level people an avenue to both earn money and shop. I think it would really enhance the lower-to-mid level experience.

Do vendors "have" to be in cities? Can't they also be at outposts like the coaches or something? Those are also very frequented areas and would be pretty nice to have a vendor there.

I think this is a great idea. It would allow people to purchase more tradeskill items like pelts and such from vendors. Plus you would actually see player vendors being used in cities like Erudin and Halas.

Although in a roleplaying aspect it would be hard to argue, as far as balance goes the idea of costs being based on trafic is quite good. However, if this was implimented, the trafic would be greatly modified. Therefor, you could technically impliment the prices in cities or regions however you wanted...because in the end the trafic paterns will all distribute of course.

To be honest I check all the other cities before I check NP because prices are a bit more reasonable in Oggok and the others.

For some reason because it costs 2gp to head to another city, the prices need to be about 2x what they are worth in NP. :?

back to WR GM-Melwin hosted a meeting and I think he came out with an idea for newbies to post their gear and items with "newbie mercahnts" that will cost like 100pp tio hire but will have a MUCH limited amout of space for items you can sell. I dont know if that is still available, my suggestion is make a druid get the druid a few lvls and use it as your merchant so that you can sell in most places.
