Tradeskill Idea

Ok deal with me, this sounds good when i say it in vent so now ill try to write the idea down.(flame away)

I know the restriction with the client will not let us add the new tradeskiller UI. My idea is that we add a set of commands from the /cm branch to make trivial items such as.

/cm make gatepotion

What then happens is that the server checks your trivial like it normally would and then checks that you have the ingredients in your bags. It takes 1 of each of the said ingredients that it would normal take to make a gate potion in this case(Memento Blossom, Alkaloid Solvent) and gives you the gate potion in return.

If this makes skilling up to easy how about making it only work on combines that are trivial to you.
 
This would trivialize keeping inventory in stock, which would drive the competition through the roof, and prices through the floor, further eroding the market for tradeskilled goods. I am against this suggestion.
 
id go for /cm make gatepotion 10 and you would make 10 of them

And i would only make it available to people with 250 skill in the tradeskill.

Cause if you are at 250 you did your share of clicking imo.
 
This sounds like a good idea if the client does indeed allow for it (confirmed by Seferon that it would work). I have not done tradeskills on this server, but did all of them to max on Live. Personally, I think the ideas sounds good, but one of the things that keeps tradeskills in check (pp/hour wise) is that it does indeed take time to click all the combines and you have to be a fast clicker to make it worth your while (as opposed to going out and farming pp).

If this is indeed implemented, then I think it should maybe even only work up until a certain skill level (say 200) so that you cannot make large profits by selling high end tradeskill items (deepmetal, shadow silk, augs, etc). This way you could still quickly make the lower end stuff, but it would prevent people from making a ton of high end items quickly and making already powerful tradeskills better.

Edit: The tedious clicking is one of the things that makes people stay away from tradeskills. Eliminating this would also make more people start them and could possibly end up flooding the market with tradeskilled wares.

I personally hate clicking over and over again, so if there was a way to take that component out I'd say go for it. Especially if it can only be made to be beneficial to people who can already make an item without fail.
 
But wasn't half the problem with Live making things too easy? No bazaar on SoD because it would trivialize price comparing and cause massive amounts of undercutting etc. Is this really that different?

If it was easy to make things as suggested, wouldn't the already limited market be absolutely flooded with TS items?
 
That was the reason why i said to make it for maxed TSers only since then you will still need to put the same effort in it to get to that lvl and thats what is stoppign people.

Great for saving clicks, bad for everyone who is not maxxed already. I understand your point, but I do not see an actual benefit to SoD at large other than those who have maxxed a skill.
