No need to apologize. You are not the first to make the same mistake, and you won't be the last. Any tradeskillers would see the heading and expect to find some tradeskill info here. I haven't checked recently to see if there are new posts on the subject, but the best way to get tradeskill info is still to contact tradeskillers in game, and to buy the basic tradeskill books from the various vendors in Newport.
There are vendors for pottery and brewing south of the Armorer nearest the bank in S Newport. Each of these sells books that will get you most of the information you need.
There is a vendor in S Newport near the clock tower who sells supplies for fletching and he sells the books you need for that skill.
There is a vendor in N Newport in the building closest to the front gate that sells tailoring books and supplies. Her husband in the same building sells food and general supplies.
At some point I will get off my but and put together a wiiki entry on the various skills, but simply doing the combines in the order listed in the books is about as good a guide as you need.
