Trade Skill Items.

I would really like it if there was a merchant or two in some of the major cities that sell farmed trade skill items at around the price players sell them. I think it would be a lot better because it is kinda annoying when people would rather farm lvl 1s instead of grouping, or clearing out entire zones because they need 1 item from each mob. Just a suggestion, because if players would farm pelts and whatnot, why wouldnt NPCs?

the whole point is that these itmes drop from mobs. i'm not sure which tradeskills if any rely solely on merchant bought stuff to skill up, but the whole point ist hat you need these items from mobs.

also, some prices vary by player

At least thats how i see it

Do you do any tradeskills at all Daed?
I dosent invalidate your opinion if you dont, im just curious.

I can say with a decent amount of certainty that we will not be trivializing all tradeskills into a 'stand by merchant'---> 'click click click click click click click click!' and repeat procedure.

yea yea...let's also make a merchant that sell the items that drop from raid mobs so we dont have to kill them to get their loot....pffft...(sarcasm off)..lemee train this fool...

Did you have a really bad day? There's really no reason to flame someone for coming up with a not thought through suggestion.

I've delved a little into mining/blacksmithing and fletching but otherwise, no. I've generally been a gatherer and either sell tradeskill items for what i see them sold for or i give them to one of my friends who is doing them.

I personally think that having items needed for tradeskills drop off of mobs helps the economy. Bone chips, something very easy to get at level one, sell for 5-10pp a stack. They make money from selling the tradeskill item and the buyer gets items for skillups.

I don't see tradeskills as easy to master, and i believe that is part of the reasone why items needed for tradeskills drop off of mobs rather than being available to purchase at your local tradeskill vendor.

This obviously isnt going to go in game as stated above but damn, after farming for hours for less then a stack 2 stacks of hides.....it sure sounds good.
But ya the cons very much outweigh the pros.

I don't agree with this idea at all. Don't get me wrong I'm trying to work on tailoring and I've been frustrated as hell trying to get the mid-high level pelts, but I think having a vendor ruins the feel of the game. But on the flip side I do see how lower levels can be frustrated with high levels clearing a zone they wanted to XP in, plus the tradeskill items ending up as bonus loot while XPing. I personally think it would be nice to have, for example, 3 zones that drop tradeskill item A ... low, mid, high level zone. and the drop rates were in line with the difficulty. That would balance it out, and probably keep the high level people from clearing the low level zones on the lowbies. Would something like that make more sense for everyone?

I think that owuld be a good idea. If a higher level tradeskiller can get XP while they farm items for mass combines I couldnt see too many of them going to lower level zones with lower drop rates.

Just my oppinion as someone who has done a HELL of alot of TSing.

when i farm items i want fast easy kills.. not crap exp + tradeskill items. takes to long. its sad that the lil guys have to lose some kills. but i generally tried to be a nice guy and not kill everything where i see people exping. but if i am farming bat bloods or bear hides.. id rather kill 20 bats in 5 mins rather then 2 bats.. my chances at bat bloods are fairly better=)
having higher end mobs drop ts items would just mean that many players would sell them, most would sell to a vendor. the only real way to solve this problem, imo, is to set aside ts farming mobs in a different location where the exp is not worth it. so the lil guys dont go there. and big guys wont be killing anything others want. now, i personally think this is a horrible idea=) the way it is now is not bad. its just a little frustrating at times. as it should be. tradeskills are not suppose to be easy. and you also gain exp at higher end tradeskilling. i wish ya luck in ur tradeskilling... but expect to sink in a LOT of time and a bit of cash. most tradeskills pay off in the end though.

But if it's balanced, it would be more beneficial for you to kill 2 bats in a high level zone to get 4 bloods per bat, than a low level zone killing 30 and getting 4 instead of 8. Plus you'd get XP for killing the higher level bats. It could be made to work and benefit all.
