Tracking Suggestion & Criticals on Proc

brasileira

Dalayan Elder
Hello,

I'm here to suggest some fixes to tracking.
It seems that some zones have too many NPC's so Bards, Druids and Rangers cant seem to track 100% correctly.

So im suggesting that when someone chose the Track Sort;
Normal
Distance
Consider
Rdistance
Rconsider

It should pick the mobs from the higher list to add to track window. Otheriwise it would be really a 100% functional track!

And the second is critical on procs.
Ive been buying SCF and ive seen that some procs can have a critical, and realized that some magic procs (buffs like wizards one) can critical also.
Im just wondering if Quiver of the sun also would proc, because ive talked to many rangers they all with many aas and SCF3 they never saw it criting..

Re: Tracking Suggestion

1) Track sorting is Ranger only
2) I'm all for a fix, I doubt it will be possible tho with the client.

so we kinda useless for scouting for raids n stuff :(

I'm pretty sure the staff is against changing track to what it was on live.

Don't quote me on this, (a staff comment would be good here) but I vaguely remember asking Wiz to fix the two big "problems" with track (no distance sort, cap on # of mobs that you can see) a long, long time ago. I believe his response was that he had no intention of putting tracksort by distance into the game, but I can't remember if he said anything specific about the cap on trackable mobs.

Again, this was a long time ago so any number of things (like my recollection) may have changed.

AFAIK, tracking by distance works very well... I used it to keep track of repops on nearby camps often.

Therefor, you usually don't sort by distance, you use "normal", which shows you the latest spawns on top.
Sort by distance helps tracking specific kinds of mobs in large outdoors zones by showing the closest mobs on top. That doesn't work in SoD. Thogh I think it should :toot:

To the crits: that might be the case because the Sun Arrow proc is unresistable. You can't have it all

As a general rule, detrimental spells that add a debuff can't critical. Unless it's been changed recently, QoS has a blind component, an attack debuff and also the DD. The sidrav maul proc is an exception to this rule, but, I believe this is due to the "debuff" being flagged as a beneficial effect even though increasing your incoming DD dmg wouldn't be very beneficial.

Didn't change. Didn't think of that, yes, that's the correct explanation ;)

Thank you garluk on explanation why it wouldn't proc... so im thinking that Quiver of Flame and Cold would have a critical chance?

Not useless. On live I would druid scout Velious, Luclin, and PoP bosses. If you have a little running area you can pick up most mobs except for bosses deep in a dungeon crawl.

Pretty sure I've critted Quiver of Cold. I never used Quiver of Flame much, its an AoE proc (from target) though I think it can crit still.

Is tracksort by distance still broken? Because it's not working for me but I haven't seen a recent thread about it. Is it broken on purpose or just a bug?

Please look at dates on threads before you post to them. If they are REALLY necessary, include a link instead of bumping a 3 year old thread.
