I constantly see people asking if zones are Kaezul occupied or about quests, new zones, etc. I think it would be cool to have a "town crier" that would shout "news" in cities. The news could include:
-- war news (recent losses and victories with Kaezul);
-- information about new quests, information about town quests,
-- news about politics (SoD politics -- I get enough of the RL stuff atm);
-- weather (and just like real life they don't have to be right/accurate);
-- sports (aked or real events like one ofthe gnome races
);
-- discoveries of new areas (new zones),
-- etc. The options are endless really.
The down side is that there would be some spam. The up side would be that it would add some realism and nostalgia to the game and provide a means of answering that commonly "ooc'd" question, "is zone <xxx> a war zone still?" before it is asked.
