Tower Of Frozen Shadow Difficulty Level

verb

Dalayan Beginner
Having made a few ventures to ToFS, it seems that there is a large jump between the first floor and second floor mobs. I have not been able to make it past the first floor due to the unusually tough Portal Guardian (all mobs on first floor are blue to a 49 but portal guardian is red to a 52 wtf?!), but a few members of my guild were able to pass by it with Neu Era and made it down to the second level.

This may not seem like a big deal, since ToFS is on the other side of the continent and has a smaller exp bonus along with lesser drops it does not seem like there is a large need to head over to that side of the world, however with the lack of the Hole or any other sort of lvl 25-55 itemized area with the exception of a few small drops in SG, there is a large equipment gap. I'm not sure if we've been doing something wrong but we've tried to hit every zone possible and our tanks are still wearing 80-90% storebought armor. I'm sure that once we hit 55 approx and are able to take on Kael stormgiants and Seb entry mobs, as well as raiding some high end mobs, thinks will go better for us, however at the moment it really feels like there is a huge void and we've been using the same equipment for 20+ levels. For the record, my tank is the Main Assist of the group and theoretically should have the best gear. He's deckd out in full vendor/CS quest armor retreieved between levels 1 and 19 along with an unrest cloak and shoulders/sandals from SG. The two weapons that he's currently using were acquired from a raid I went on with my chanter with GotW and luckily got to loot a sword they were letting rot, along with a small GM event that someone (Luc i think) was nice enough to take the time to put together.

I realize that gear should not be abundant and it shouldn't be easy to acquire full sets of armor, etc, but having such a large number of mobs with very few viable drops for anyone but casters, or so it seems, makes things very frustrating for those of us trying to be the most efficient at killing mobs as possible.

The problem is mainly lack of The Hole, but I've also rarely seen you guys move ANYWHERE but DN entrance. Do you really expect gear to just fall down your lap when you won't actually go explore dungeons or other places? If you had bothered hunting say... CC, EW orc fort, Kael frost giants, Nurga, IC gnolls, or dozens of other places you wouldn't be too badly equipped. But you wanted to powerlevel away in DN, and your gear is paying the price.

We have tried Kael frost giants, Nurga (bugged monk armor), ToFS, CC (shields), and SG, which were basically the only spots suggested to us but we'll go ahead and check out the other spots, thanks for the list ;)
