tomes: Focused hate 1 and Servant Training 1

As the only SK that Im aware of who has so far finished his Classtome and considered starting the second one, I have some concerns regarding these.
I thought Id tackle them one at a time.

Focused Hate 1:

This tomes description is as follow:
This codex adds a mana drain and stun to your Leech and Improved Harm Touches as well as increasing their damage.

The idea as such is nice, and for some encounters the mana drain, stun and increased dmg is a big advantage. However, this classtome takes a huge amount of exp to finish, Id gather quite a bit over 100 aa's (maybe closer to 150, I didnt parse the exact amount), I assume this is the same amount as the equivalent class tomes for other classes.
Touches can be used about once every 30 minutes. This unfortunately means that considering the exp spent, this tome doesnt yield nearly as important a result as most other class tomes do.

For example, the wizard class tomes gives some mana back to the wizard when he kills a mob and when a spell is resisted. One of the paladin classtomes gives him a innate grouphealproc. I'm under the impression these tomes takes the exact same amount of exp to finish. Simply put, the effects of these tomes happens far more frequently than once every 30 minutes.

In this light, the sk tome seems sadly lacking in comparison to the exp it takes to finish it.

Suggestion for solution:
I'd like to suggest that the mana drain of the tome is changed to a mana-tap, and its potency might need to be increased somewhat. This small change, would be in line with the original thought of the tome, but bring the tomes power more inline with other classtomes and the exp needed to finish it.
A mana-tap and stun instead of manadrain&stun once every 30 minutes isn't a big change and wont affect raidencounters much. But it will make the tome a lot more useful during groupcontent (allowing the sk to use some more of his dps spells, since he can regain some of his mana every 30 minutes).

Servant Training 1:
This codex teaches allows [sic: mistake is in game] your Agent of Kaezul to explode violently.

Currently the runic:Agent of Kaezul is removed from game and changed into a spear that at my current tomes of power and gear nukes for about 2.5k dmg.

I've been under the impression that Runic:Spear of Woe will be changed back into a pet or something else sometime in the future. Meanwhile, unfortunately, the tome is fairly useless.

Could this tome possibly be changed to make the spear of woe explode violently on the foe :)p), until/if the spell is changed again?

as a sidenote, when casting a touch on myself, I am not stunned. Is it working as intended?

You do realize that one of the ranger tomes lets us track further than normal right? This alone makes your criticism null.

Im aware. I think the first that dropped dropped for my group. But rangers get 2 class tomes. Id be surprised if the one that increases track range takes over 100 aa's to do, and if so it should be looked at. The other ranger tome is pretty neat if I remember correctly.

Crippling shot, I'm sure it lets you cripple more with bow shots and/or lets you cripple on a higher level target with bow shot. That is just a guess however.

Both sound worthless in a raid. Unless they let you cripple on any level mob. Not to say the wizard one isnt worthless in a raid also.

getting more 18k hits is worthless, k.

The other ranger one makes your pinning shots do more damage and stun for longer, its good.

Reclaimed Mana is one of the most awesome tomes I've ever seen and MORE than amazing in a raid setting. I'm thrilled about it despite the fact it takes approximately 27.72 million experience points to complete. Getting mana back when your spell is resisted is awesome on the level of eating an ice cream sundae irl and finding money at the bottom. Mmm... yum... ice cream... oh yes... yumm.... a five-dollar bill....? Woo-hoo!

I'm stupid and I didn't know about the resist part of the tome, even tho it is in this thread.

I don't know what's planned, but if I were a SK losing Spear of Woe back to some pet stuff would make me cry hard.
Now that specific tome about Agent of Kaezul doesn't have to be changed to increasing the new version of runic that is already quite formidable. Maybe it could affect any kind of pet of the SK (they have some green con one they could send just for fun to explode)

I agree with Minlas that these tomes seem pretty bad considering the recast of the harm touches.
I support the suggestion for mana drain to be changed to mana tap, but even then most mobs don't have mana.

Harm touch and it's unresistable and lifetapping version are on same timer and you can use one of them every 36 minutes when you have the appropriate AAs.
Spending this much xp to simply gain a bit more damage seems horrible.

Could you add some effect like disintegrate to it, but make it work on a mob max level 55 or something?

I really like SKs now with terror changes, brazen bull and veil of marlow. I was actually hoping the tomes would make vortex, succubus and brazen bull less resistable instead of improving harm touches.

another option would be to switch it to affect sublimate soul instead of touches (which is the fruglok lifetap spell), since that spell is on a timer (and other lifetaps arent). Adding a stun and small dmg increase to that would be simply amazing.

My first suggestion was a rather small change though, basically Id just like the tome looked over, because it does take an unreasonable amount of exp to finish for its current result. Regaining say 1k or 2k mana every 36 minutes would turn it from so-so to decent return for the exp it currently takes to complete.

About the runic, I am of two minds. The spear is great dps, but requires mana. A pet wouldnt be as big dps, but it would be constant and manafree dps which would make it nice for exp. Atm I really just wanted to turn some eyes to the fact that the servant training tome is currently in game but does nothing, and it would be nice if it did.

I can confirm this. The stun effect doesn't seem to be working. For any interested parties, I got a 15% increase in my HT damage after completion of Focused Hate I.
