Tome completion oddities notice.

i recently finished off my frost opus 1 and around 95% i checked my damage and wrote it down for reference (1575 non-crit archaic claws tick).

upon completing the tome i refreshed/camped so the game would save the completion and i checked fomelo and in game to be sure it was completed as i always do with any tome i do.

After i usual completion ritual i decided to test archaic's damage once again to find that it was still 1575 non-crit and became confused slightly. seeing how each rank of an elemental focus tome gives 2% extra damage to that element i am reasonable sure it should have made a difference. so i came up with the 2 most obvious reasons as to why i didnt see any change:

1.) tome isnt working...highly unlikely but its a potential reason nonetheless.

2.) tomes bonus to damage was added before tome was completed. i checked my logs and this seems to be the case as i was only doing about 1561 a day or so ago.

TL'DR = some tomes give benefits before completion like class tomes but likely only near completion and just wanted people to know if they did not before.

Don't quote me 100% on this but I'm fairly positive that the damage is increased throughout the book's experience

Yep lots of class tomes give the benefit on an "smooth increase as you go" kind of basis. This sounds like that.

yeah im aware that class tomes do that but many have said that normal tomes (non-emberflow) do not give partial benefits which is why i was confused.
either way i just wanted to throw up a notice.

Most non-Emberflow tomes *DO* give partial benefits. They just look at your percentage complete and scale the modifier based on that. Special tomes that give you a benefit that can't be scaled, like Word of Power, only take effect on completion.

Pretty sure EF tomes do too, or at least some of them. When I was getting close to finishing the dmg reduction tome I did a bunch of before and after parses and got no difference and assumed/was told that's why.

Yeah. I said non-Emberflow because he specifically mentioned them, but any tome that gives you X% increase or chance or whatnot for something will generally be scaled by completion percentage.
