Firstly, don't think you're doing Wiz a favour by complaining. Feedback belongs in the bugs section or the suggestions section, not in a "this server sucks lol" thread. He's not going to be appreciative if your opening line is
Well, i don't know anything about that, but i would like to add a comment or two about the server sucking.
Secondly, I played my shaman from level one to level sixty on this server, and I had no problem aquiring equipment or experience solo. I had to search around a few places until I found good spots, but I did find them. There are decent enough drops in Warrens, and there are quest drops in Unrest and most other newbies zones which yield good quest armour that lasted me up 'til 50 or so, as it did for most of the current level sixty players, who will not only testify to that, but will be damn well proud of it

. For a level twenty caster, there's robes galore, including a very impressive robe from Eastern Wastes. For plate classes, there are some fairly decent breastplates that can be obtained from level sixteen plus. The Hole is a wonderful place for loot (especially casters), if you explore it fully, and even Lord Syktari (who isn't even level thirty) drops some very nice items. Netherbian mobs give very nice experience and are mostly single, managable pulls. These places exist, but you have to look for them. That's the beauty of this server, it lets you get that sense of exploration all over again.
Thirdly, you got two platinum from a item that can drop from a kobold. You cannot say that it's very hard to get money in light of that. Money on this server is not difficult to come by, and usually flows enough to allow you to buy more than a single medkit, which holds 400 bandages in one easy slot. I didn't have this when I was level eight. When I was level eight, we had to buy bandages in single stacks and they usually poofed on zoning.
The server has a lot of opportunities for low level players regarding experience and equipment, and there are a lot more to come. As Nazul mentioned, it's a beta. If you think the gameplay can be improved somehow, there's a whole forum devoted to it where you can make your request and get not only dev feedback, but player feedback aswell. Good ideas you have can be developed and will possibly implemented. There's a thread called "Making the game more interesting", if you have any ideas as to this, post them. If you find a bug, there's a bugboard set aside specifically for that eventuality, make use of it. Crippling bugs are dealt with quite quickly, and the minor bugs have a bigger chance of being corrected if they're all listed in the same place, not spread out in inappropriate topics or mentioned briefly in /ooc. If you're unable to find places to level up, the majority of the players online and in IRC are usually willing to make a few suggestions if you approach them politely, but there's also a post with zone level ranges, a post with zone connections, and a thread that you can use to find information about a certain item or quest that you're having touble with. I tend to camp these boards, as do quite a few people, so any questions you have will be answered within a couple of hours, maybe even minutes.
Downtime is always irritating. It was irritating on Live, and it was irritating here. Unfortunately there's not much that can be done about that without making people too powerful. EQLive players learn that very early on, and are still bitter about it at 65. If you feel it's too hard with that class, and you're not enjoying it
at all, I would put it to you that you chose the wrong class to begin with.
As for the unavailability of groups, that's a problem for us all. A problem that will hopefully be resolved with the release of version 0.5.0, which will allow new players into the emu and, consequently, into Winter's Roar. Every class is able to solo, though. It's slow, it can be frustrating, but we've all had to do it at one time or another. If you're getting too frustrated with the lack of partners, why not convince a friend to make a cleric (a class which we're severly lacking in at the moment) or another class that would go well with yours and duo a few levels?
A lot of effort and planning has been put into this server, and you have to work to get to a level where you can see the fruit of this labour. A lot of mobs are still undefeated because the currently high-end population isn't nearly powerful enough to kill them. But they will be. You don't have to put in as much work as you do in Live, but you still have to put in work. It's not easy, but it's not impossible, and the rewards are worth it in the end.
On the whole, we're a failry tolerant community and we welcome mature people (even if they're legally immature) who want to have fun and are willing to contribute to the project via bug reports and viable ideas about server direction or content. Not eveything will be implemented, but everything will be considered. As such, there will always be people who "leech" by taking and never giving, these people tend to make the game a less enjoyable experience for other players, either by complaining incessantly, being unjustifiably recalcitrant , insisting on special treatment or just being plain abusive. Whether you're embraced as a friend, or disregarded as an annoyance is, as everything ultimately is, up to you. First impressions don't always count, but they help, and it's always easier to forgive the first time, than it is the second.
Welcome to Winter's Roar.
