This Client is Awesome!

I just wanted to say that the client supported by this server is the last EQ of the classic era that is available to play on a stable server. It is the only directx 8 version of the game out there that can recreate the classic experience that later clients can't even come close to emulating. I was excited to learn that one is still around since the closing of EQMac. I had my classic particles turned on a few days ago and was bathing in the nostalgia lol.

Anyway, I'm jealous of this client.

Upgrading the client is a huge priority for the staff right now, sorry to burst your bubble! The game is still amazing though, check it out it has lots of enjoyment waiting for you!

There are too many bugs with the old client. They effect game play in a negative way and restrict creative development of the game. The staff is working to upgrade to a newer less buggy client and thank god.

Yeah the only problems are the bugs and the increasing issues with new hardware and operating systems. But I am glad you are getting your nostalgia fix!
