Third Monk Tome Idea

Tome of the Tranquil

After years of meditation and study, you have become more adept at focusing the elements in combat.

Strengthens the effects of monk stances 4 and 5 (Cryogenic and Kinetic Focusation) by greatly improving the damage and/or proc rate per tome (or gives like 1% accuracy and haste per tome rank and keeps the current procs).

Currently neither of these stances are worth using, the last time I parsed the fire proc one, the proc did 11 DPS total even with my tomes/charm/focus effects/etc and ended up being like 50 dps lower than aggressive stance. It would be nice to have an alternative to the vanilla Aggressive Stance that we could use for more than a minute before running out of stamina.

Also the tome should make the monk be silenced when using the stances because of the focus required.

Blood Rejuvenation

The monk heals 1/1.4/1.7/2% of their total missing hit points each second.

I always though monks with high hp regen was really cool for pulling and other general use, but it doesn't really seem to be a part of SOD.

I feel like this wouldn't make much difference tanking, however this would be a significant help in pulling or surviving AEs. These numbers are sort of based on the fact that monks aren't a top tier dps, allowing them more utility (picking up adds during AEs, auxing and healing ripostes, etc)

That's an interesting idea but it sounds like it would be tough to balance. A high tier monk with full buffs would get ~200 hp per second when they're near death. That would be a bit overpowered for solo/box/farm situations I think. And when it comes to raids and auxing, your health would still dip lower than other people in the group which can lead to the healer wasting mana or you dying to an AOE or low health aggro or something.

Semi-related: Unless the aux system has changed from what the wiki and old staff forum posts say, there's no benefit in having more than 2 tanks and a melee or one tank and 2-3 melees auxing. Which makes all those times people have been screaming in vent for every single person in the raid to help aux pretty amusing. Although I guess it's possible that certain mobs were coded differently but that seems unlikely.

Coming up with a tome in the existing Monk framework is counter productive as it would only reinforce and bandage a broken class design. On the other hand I suppose getting a tome change would be significantly easier and more likely.

third monk tome

i want to be a bard tome:
whenever the monk does reckless combo, they have a 4/8/12/16% chance to flurry during reckless combo so maybe they will do some melee dps instead of 40% of their damage being procs
