Things That Ought to Be Protected by Guestlock

Guestlock is a great invention that I've made use of on several characters over the pasts couple of years. However, there seem to be a few things that it does not protect but really ought to. My own request is that the /cmd explock command be protected by guestlock. The owner of the character (or at least those with the guestlock password) ought to decide whether or not the character's exp gain rate can be shut off or turned on regardless of who has access to the account. Admittedly, sharing a character who is explocked is probably a very rare occurrence, but it still seems like an easy addition that might make a difference to someone somewhere someday.

What other items (within reason) ought to be added under guestlock's protection? I've heard in-game that adventure band commands ought to be added to the list, too, though I don't have much of an opinion of that matter myself. However, I can see where this would be desired for owners of tanks/healers who "get around," so to speak.

Are there any downsides I'm unaware of to adding either explock or adventure bands to guestlock? Would this create difficulties or loopholes that could be taken advantage of in some way?

EDIT: What about /cmd bind? Is this protected by guestlock? If not, is there a good reason why it shouldn't be?

Character deletion (if it isn't already)
This is definitely a good idea, but I don't know how this could be incorporated to guestlock. Guestlock seems only to govern actions taken on a character already logged in. The character select screen is separate from that, and I imagine it would require some kind of complicated workaround to prevent deletion. I'd guess hard-coding would probably be an obstacle here, if nothing else.

Now that I think about it, swearing to deities (including "decoverting" to Pariah) should probably also be guestlocked.

The delete happens server side and the server would know if the character is guest locked so I don't see why it could just not delete it. It probably wouldn't be able to give feedback to the client.

Necrobumping this 2014 thread for visibility. A few players in OOC have claimed today that one of Draist's toons (who was made public on 6 March 2016) was deliberately unlocked and leveled to 46 (thereby rendering him useless for Icefeather). I'm withholding judgment until someone from the staff can figure out what actually happened, but this illustrates a vulnerability in the guestlock system that many of us would like to see closed.

It's a shame the feature was never added. Maybe it's more involved than I realize as a non-developer. Anywho, it can't hurt to try again.

unfortunately im going to go against you and say that this shouldnt be a thing on guestlock. this is one of those dangers of giving your info out to the entire server.

In my eyes guestlock is in place to protect people who retired or quit from a shitbag who wants to take all their cash. i dont believe it should be there to stop everything on the character.

What reason would you have to say, " I don't think people making public adept toons to help people out should have their levels protected"?

You approve of guestlock booting a player who tries to destroy a mod rod, but you don't think that a character's exp status should be protected under guestlock? o_O
