the game will not continue when .....

the game will not continue when I bite the dust, it says wait reloading but it matters not how long I wait. those last words and screen stay frozen. the only option is to use the windows button close the game and restart. any help would be appriecated :)
 
Where is your current bind point? Have you tried changing your bind point and if you die do you get the same problem?

yes I have used different bind points and it makes no difference

this request for help seems to have no answer forthcoming so just in case there is hope I have bumped it to the top.

maybe I can come at it from a different angle, the first responce I had was which UI I was using, custum UI or default UI. so perhaps if I changed from the default to custom that may help I duno, just clutching at straws because I have nothing else but I am at a loss how to change the UI. can anyone tell me how I do it.
 
When in game go to options (alt O) and then click on the display tab.  Where it says load UI, select a custom one you have downloaded into your game folder.  There are a couple listed on the front page of the SoD site just click on the files link, and a few listed in the must have sticky where is says "UI Suggestions".

Your issue is quite unique. How long does it typically take you to move from zone to zone. I'm just thinking if the slow speeds could be related to your PC speed and your internet connection speed. Other than that I have no idea what the issue would be. I would suggest looking in your DBG.TXT file which could explain why you're crashing. I would look for a date and timestamp from when you've died and you froze and see if you find anything in that log around that date/time. If there's an error message of any sorts you could post it here. That's about all I can think of at this time.

hi zardon my pc is quite fast and running fine and loads of harddrive space, I have a gb of ddr 400 ram ,my internet connection is cable 4 mbs, it dosent take long to move zones certainly less than a miniute. I will check the dbg.txt file this evening, thanks for the trouble you are taking with my problem, it dosent ruin the game but it is annoying having to restart the game from scratch.


thanks JayelleNephilim I'll try that (just stick them in the game folder, I thought they went in the skin folder for some reason but that didnt work ;) )
 
Right, it's not in the skins folder (IE: on mine it's in a file - in the game folder - called "uifiles").

hmm seems obvious now but I didnt see that when I looked still thanks I have put one in there now, I havent tried it out yet though, bit busy with the middwinter festies.
 
ho ho ho tried the Castrer UI put it in the right folder and it worked fine but didnt solve the problem, it still crashes but it was worth a try.

I have another charecture that I used first but didnt continue with which works fine, so the problem I think maybe there. however I find this game very hard and it has been a struggle to get where I am now (level 14) so I am not going to start again, its a question of put up with this promlem or give up it seems. I still have to look at the DBG.text file so maybe there is a solution yet to be found.
 
If you're sure it's only the one character that's bugged, try deleting all his ini files and likewise. Just search for his charactername in your EQFolder.
