The common 303 error, with a twist?

Looking into the dbg.txt file in the game folder, I found that it was having a trouble with a string that was done in japanese since I have the japanese language installed.

It couldn't ready the text string (or file? it doesn't really say) and it just gave up.

I tried disabling japanese languages but I guess the thing is permanently installed?

Things I've done at different times

Deleted the eqstr_us.txt, eqstr_en.txt, eqclient.ini, mss32.dll, EQGfx_Dx8.dll, and eqmain.dll

Moved the SoD patcher to a different folder

Umm, patched? Or moreso installed the launchpad. I can't seem to update the actual game without an actual account with registered the game (have the account but not the activation with game)

I'm not sure if my 303 is different or if my computer is just playing tricks on me, but I'll keep playing with it for a bit until I can try getting a certain uncorrupt txt file that people keep mentioning.

One of the most recent reasons for people getting the 303 error is not being patched properly to live. Are you saying you have installed all of the cds? You need everything included in titanium or else you will need to patch up to and including GoD on live (which I believe launchpad will do for you automatically with whatever expansions it shows you have). Otherwise, you will need to use launchpad with an active account. Without doing one or the other you will get the 303 string not found error.

As for the twist and japanese file... yea... no clue.

Ahh, I have the old CD's so that must be my problem. I have up to PoP and am unable to patch live so I guess my problem is that. Thank you very much and I'll try to pick up a cheap titanium package.
