Hello was wondering something. Does the Trader command work in the bazzar and if so is it buggy or is it safe to use?

also was wondering if blacksmithing was implemented yet?

It was implemented at one time. Was really buggy, got removed and then the masses were told, in no uncertain terms, NO TRADER MODE FOR YOU!

Doh....ok thanks for the quick reply...guess there goes my ideas for starting up blacksmithing and selling magic items while im watching my daughter....sorry to hear it was so bugged...any idea how soon smiffing will be put in? if theres another thread on the smiffing btw im sorry i havent seen it yet.

Thanks Melwin. . . would love to see the traders again when im in the bazaar....if only so i have an excuse to spend my money for stuff i prolly dont need again :)

No, I meant the smithing thing.

Traders will most likely never go in.

Melwin has this irrational fear of trader mode. I hear he never even enters the bazaar in fright of someone trying to sell him something useless.
 
Or, it could be that the server can't handle 800 bots in Bazaar in AFK trader mode, and AFK traders ruin the social interactions of the server. Cause... like... Wiz wants grouping and social-ness and all that jazz.

I agree with this. EQ's trader system all in all seemed a little too automatic. It basically turns your character into a trade-bot... why discourage botting in every aspect of the game but promote trade-botting? I thought that letting people make money while AFK was a bad thing.

However, trying to trade specialty items (like quest components) through /auction back in the old days was a little problematic. Before there were traders, if I didn't know what an item was and it didn't seem special, I figured it was vendor trash. Or I figured nobody would pay me enough to make it worthwhile to keep. The reason traders changed that was because now I could passively find potential buyers without spamming /auction or staying online forever.

So I'd like to eventually see a Trading board here on the WR forums. That will force person-to-person interaction, as the trades themselves would be performed manually, but it would allow folks to put up a want-list or a have-list of items that is 24/7 accessible, and I think would make it a little easier to trade odd items without making it trivial.
 
I thought people already posted what they wanted on these forums, but I guess you mean another forum I.E. WR Discussion.
And I don't see what's wrong with AFK selling, it would make it so you could hunt during the day and sell at night, what's wrong with that.
