The items i'm going to be comparing are:
Molten Guardian Pauldrons
(http://wiki.shardsofdalaya.com/index.php/Molten_Guardian_Pauldrons)
and Etched Earthen Pauldrons
(http://wiki.shardsofdalaya.com/index.php/Etched_Earthen_Pauldrons)
The former drops from the UT fire boss, the latter from the LT earth boss.
My issue with these is that there is a very marginal difference stat wise in the two, which is not proportionate with the level of difficulty it requires to attain each item. I really don't see 4 ac, 5hp, and 20svf as much of an upgrade from 4dmg redux, 2 stun resist, and 80 mana. If you are a tank not at the dmg redux cap yet, or need to wear the LT earth shoulders to be so - they are by far the superior choice. On the other hand, if you are a tank that clears the dmg redux cap without these shoulders, then the former is a slightly better choice.
There are a ton of easy ways to change the UT shoulders without imblaancing them I think, such as adding a little bit of ac, hp, more FR, hell, even toss some dmg redux, a focus effect, or a defensive mod on them.
Thanks for the consideration.
