Technical Question

Okay, I just started my character, and I was in the sewers.. I made it to a screen where it said "Entering Southern Newport" or something.. And it crashed.. Now I can't log back onto the server.. Is the server down ATM?

Bad idea to ask if the server is down in the forums (it is posted somewhere I just coudlnt find it right away about this being a big no no)
You should ALWAYS log into IRC to see the current status of the server.
Which by doing so I see the current status is UP

To address your crashing - the client is a bit (VERY) flakey and will crash when zoning from time to time or just for the heck of it while standing around in a zone for too long. You just need to keep trying (most i've tried is 20 times) to get back in.

Chances are snp itself was down or your zone file for it had issues. If it's the former, it'll generally be back up within a few minutes. If it's the latter, you can delete the file and repatch. A good way to check is to log in an alt located in some other zone and ask around.

It's also quite common to just crash out and have to try several times before you can get back to character select. It's just that buggy client.
