Targetable AE

I have no parses, but -- has anyone noticed problems with targetable AE spells, such as AE mez and AE rains? I haven't bothered to AE mez with my 57 enc, because even with mobs standing next to each other the AE will only hit one. Or maybe 2.

I'm not saying that there are resist problems -- I'm saying that multiple targets are not even being hit. I've also grouped with a wiz (Soluse) and mag (Seral) who had problems with their damage AEs

Any comments?

EDIT: On a side note, I also grouped with a 65 mag, Yacub. It appeared that Yacub had 0 problems with his rain; yet in the same group, Seral could not hit more than one target with his rain, even if it was not cast while yacub's was in effect

If you do not get aggro on the mobs by at least proximity, you won't hit multiple mobs with it. Run up to the mobs, then run back, then target ae or rain. You hit one because it's the one you are casting on.

Depending on the situation, it is sometimes advisable for wizards to use Concussion rather than proximity to gain the mob's awareness. Getting put on the hate list with a negative amount of hate isn't a bad thing.

With my druid if I am in an AE group I almost always just drop a quick heal on the tank then blast away =)

i've been trying to send my pet to 3 targets, then using my Rain but I always only hit 2 targets. I've also ran up into the middle of the mobs to get proximity agro and only 2 targets, also hit auto attack and missed 3-4 of them, and still only 2.
When my target dies, i still hit 2 targets.
even if i do nothing but cast, i hit 2 targets

guess that solves my question. I always thought it was 3 for some reason.
