Tank Range Increment

I know range increment isnt huge on tanks or anything but looking through some fomelos of the top tanks, and the wiki i came across only 3 items with RI 7 or higher. Provenance of Flame, Shroud of the Ambitious, and Ring of Luminous Crystals.

Provenance are nice hands but once you hit sanctum you can get better. The shroud of the ambitious imo isnt really tank loot, and the ring can only be used by 1 of the 3 tank classes. Anyway more could be added to some items?

woe (bow) and Honor the ring from enthann has range inc 7 too.

it's true. pretty much once you replace gens gloves w/ drakes gloves, your days of having range increment as a tank are over
 
Until I got the aforementioned ring from Tur'Ruj (Paladin only) I always kept Provenance in my bags for the few moments when I needed the range increment (fights where I kite). I feel like this falls under the - not every class should be perfectly optimized for every focus effect at every tier - area. Edit: especially for a focus effect that is not anywhere near required as a best in slot type item. I would also argue that Provenance and Vargach are a lot closer than you think (unless you can't get mana con elsewhere).

I think it would be reasonable to add range 7 to toaris or vivis. it's more a convenience thing, it's not like it makes anything overpowered - just less obnoxious. and hell bango, even that ring didn't have range (or pal) until recently. so tier 10-13+ has zero range increment all-tank usable items?

Edit: I can see where this is coming from though as having a swap in Range Increment just means another (of a dozen+) of bagged items that tanks usually (read: should) have on them and isn't game changing.
 
Just on wiki alone there's 6 mana cons, 9 damage increments, 5 heal inc, 5 duration inc, 2 csi's, and 9 affliction enhancements. Not including at least several more that isnt listed on the wiki.

Bango, yes it would be fine to just swap it in and out whenever i needed, but as a sk who helps pull, tank/tag it helps a ton being about to have that extra range to pull mobs in and the extra time to FD if i have to. Your right that range increment is necessary for me or anyone to tank, but no tank needs any focus mod to tank they are all just bonuses. You need aggro, hps, and ac and none of these help on any of those other then a bit more aggro from more damage which can be replaced other ways.
 
I really see where gank is coming from here, because it really seems l. like you are forced into using gens gloves as swap, and have no realistic other option which is kinda o_O? That said, maybe toss it on some 6man stuff?
 
Actually Damage Inc does not increase agro assuming the agro contest in The Arena was accurate.

CSI will let you cast faster for a bit more agro.

Mana Con will allow you to cast more spells on a long fight.

HI might help keep you alive.

Im pretty sure the other foci don't matter for just tanking, but they do have their uses.

Having every focus on every tier is silly, but it does seem like there is a lack of RI for a long time. That said, there is still unseen loot. Maybe people need to actually clear out Temple of Elial for their t10-11ish tank RI???
 
The Temple of Elael is a raid zone accessible from the zone The Tears of Elael.

I actually don't know how to access it, what Tier it is, what Tier it is meant to be, etc... just that it felt around 9-10 (ish?) and that it's been untouched for 3 months and never completed.
 
The start was t9-10ish, who knows where it ends though. Certainly worth checking out for guilds stressing over not enough content in that range hint hint
 
Well unless stated from someone who knows that there really is a tank range increment in Temple of Elael the point is moot especially if the zone isnt even finished. Like cian2 said it would be easy to just throw this mod on some sanctum and/or spires gear. if not can you at least give a reason why there is virtually none tank useable after Gens gloves.

Well, take your guild and go finish it. It's virgin content sitting there that FWF is being gracious enough to leave for other guilds. Go experience the unbridled joy of doing content that nobody else has done.
 
Actually the point is not moot at all.

If there was tank RI in the zone, it could potentially solve this problem.

I don't know how high tiered the zone ends up, so there may still be a lack of tank RI t11+, but once again, there are mobs left for FWF to kill (and loot left on some mobs we have killed)
 
Sorry by not finished i thought you meant that the zone was not complete/broken not that no one has killed all the names.

I prefer provenance over Vargach for raidtanking since I'm not max riposte without them yet. The riposte kind of makes up the hp/ac difference in most scenarios.
