Sword/Spear of Power

A few ideas to make these a bit more useful.

If it's true that if you give a pet a weapon they do weapon damagex2 then:
Sword of Power
Atk Delay 24 Dmg 17 AC 10
Effect: Runeguard
Dex and Agi 10 HP 50 and 10 to all saves
Required level 55

The damage on that doesnt really do anything to help them since by themselves, the lvl 63 pets hit into the 50s low 60s. How about upping the damage (and delay) to allow pets to hit in the 70s - 80s maybe?

Or how about putting a new type of runeguard on it? One that gives more protection than the same one that is on our level 29!! summoned sword.

Another idea would be to remove the runeguard and maybe put a small nuke proc on it. 100 - 200 damage maybe?
 
Would you consider putting in a summoned 2-handed weapon for single-attack pets like my shaman's? :)
 
Pretty sure wiz pointed out he wanted to make Pet oriented weapons, I'm sure its long line down the list though

Companion Strength Focus increases pet max hit. With Focus 3, my 63 pets already hit into the low 70's every now and then. Focus 6 should raise it into the low to mid 80s thus making the summoned weapons again obsolete per your suggestion. But if you upped the weapon to make it still worthwhile with the higher focus effects, then you've overpowered the ones that don't have focus. I think changing the Runeguard proc to a DD proc would be a better answer. I can always make a new pet and give him runeguard proc weapons if I want him to tank for me.
 
I had totally forgotten about the pet focus items. At the moment I only have Pet Health 4 and Pet Strength 3. I see your point about the damage. Nuke proc would probably be best then. Might even be more useflu to players. Maybe.

Weapon delay doesn't effect pets, however weapon damage takes a part in their overall dps.

I did realize that. I just said to raise weapon delay along with the damage for it not to be overpowered for players. The other option would be to make the weapons unusable by players.
 
how about adding a larger rune proc to the swords and changing the spear to a DD proc?
