sword quest help

i just handed erylin the sword i recieved from the old warrior in SNP and she told me to finish the quest all i needed to do was hand the sword to a sprite found in erudin's fountain for a blessing. now heres my problem, HOW THE HECK DO YOU REACH IT?! and please don't tell me i will need some magical help cause that would be soooooooooooo stupid, IMHO. anyway any help would be appreciated by this fustrated warrior.

Don't know any details of the quest, so I can't be of much help... but what's wrong with needing a little aid to get a quest finished? I don't know the level of it or anything, but a big part of the SOD experience is cooperation and working with other players. Unless you're one of those sicko necrophiliac necromancer types.

Unfortunately, the only way I found to do it was to get magical help. :( I got levitate, then manuvered across the courtyard to get some height via the rock walls directly across from the fountain, and was able to run across (using the roof of the temple to keep height) and to the sprite.

I agree with you, for a warrior usable blade, the sprite would be better placed somewhere in the fountain below where it could be reached without assistance (that's the only part of the quest I remember having to have help for). The sprite dies after you do the turn-in, and there were 2 up there when I went, so it appears that someone else wasn't able to reach it either.

If you can't get someone to go with you for the lev, I believe mages can summon an item that will give you lev that you can take with you.

i knew it! jeez why can't at least one of the warrior quest be soloable? well guess i start looking for a druid or ranger to help. :(

I didn't design the quest, but the reasoning behind where the sprite is, is because it's meant as part of the challenge of the quest. It's possible to get up there alone(I've tested it), you just have to keep at it for a bit more than likely.

well i tried yet once again to find my own way up to the sprite (wasting an hour) to no avail, so i thought i'd give whoever it was that designed this quest something to think about. I think that you sincerly believe that other players are always willing to help someone in their quests but the reality is that unless there is some sort of incentive (which a low lvl char couldn't give) people are not willing, and will in some cases just flat out refuse helping. Also the fact that there are not as many casters who can help should be taken into consideration. Spending an hour or more to find someone to cast a spell for you as trivial as levitate is really asking alot from them when you take in account the travel time needed. So maybe the next time your coming up with a quest you will want to think about that and have a little consideration for those people who only have a set amount of time to be on and set up quests accordingly. Sorry for the rant but to get so close and be stopped by something so petty is really heartbreaking. ;(

If none of the many many many many many many many many many many many classes that can cast levitate, levitation, dead man floating, etc are at the gate....then I MIGHT see a valid point. But there is no reason why it should take anywheres NEAR an hour to bum that simple easy low level spell off of someone. Plus it was already pointed out that while difficult, it can still be done without it. This is making me want to try to get up there myself.

Let us know if you succeed. I tried for a good half hour myself to get up there without lev (I initially didn't think Lev was going to work, because of the invisibile walls preventing you from getting on some rooftops and some of the slanting stone areas =\). I couldn't find a place low enough on the rocks to jump on, and swimming up the waterfall didn't work. This is from the perspective of a human... different size races might have different results.

One of the problems with finding a caster to cast lev on you for this is that it is in Erudin, which is empty most of the time. If it were in Newport, there wouldn't be any problem. (Thus my suggestion about finding a mage somewhere else to summon the lev item instead.)

I might also suggest Spirit of Bi Li, Spirit of Wolf, etc to help you acheive a longer jump

I'm just going to tack a little request that's been bugging me onto this thread:

Can the spells: Levitation, Everlasting Breath be made to cast on level 1+ at the moment they have no powerleveling purpose they're just the lower spells with no reagent but blocked due to the buff code.

My point being, I wouldn't beable to levitate a newbie warrior because I don't carry batwings because I have Levitation :(

Boy! didn't think my rant was going to get any where at least not as many responses, but i am happy to say that i did get to the sprite (thx to Tovaros who was at the time boxing in the warrens, thx dude! ) with the help of a lev, of course (yes invis walls stink).

Soooooo wouldn't you like me to post the sword? Well I would but theres just one little thing, I didn't get it! It turns out that that Erudin :censored: lied. She had said the blessing was all that was left but when told to go back to her by the sprite she informs me of some stone or gem that has to be found in order to complete the sword. and then she dies! do you get this? she freaking dies! :brow:

Anyway now i'm looking for a gem i have no idea where it could be (though the Great Divide is where i'll probably start looking) and no idea if It's a drop or ground spawn. :? So if anyone has done this quest any help (even if it's just a hint) would be greatly appreciated.

It's a ground spawn at the top of the mountain in the middle of the Great Divide. Go to the very peak, and look around a little bit; you'll see it.

Woah, looks like i missed this party, but I can confirm it's possible to get up there with no lev. Took me about two minutes of trying with my wizzie alt--I saw the sprite, didnt know what it was, and got up there to hail it. You go back a little bit, get onto a roof, and from there onto rocks, and run around. I know it isn't much help since you've already got it, but thought some folks might find it helpful.

HAHA! I got it! (thx Guiardo). YEAH! WOO HOO! 1HS 27dly, 12 dmg, effect cease, VERY NICE! :D just one thing, lvl 35 requiered :? wow only 17 lvls more till i can equp it  but atleast i have it (ran all the way to divide with no help from casters :p) Oh and btw, you think you could maybe put a forge in thurg? i had to wait till i got back to halas to do the combine, but if there is a forge in thurg or even storm pls forget what i said.

As for the comment from Xikzasil that you designed it to be possable to do it without lev, i have to disagree. i tried jumping to every roof in the area with no luck. every time i got close i just hung in mid-air with no place to go but down. Maybe a small race, with no plate armor can do it but a human with full set IMHO can't, least that's what an hour of trying taught me. Maybe your right but if theres a trick to it you may want to share it cause i can tell you it was no fun trying to do it on my own.

All that said, Kudos! on the quest. Though frustrating, and scary (you try running through forest and wastes with no invis or sow at 18) it was worth the time (ok maybe all of it) to do and i recommend it to all my fellow warriors, you palys and rangers may find it useful too. ;)

I'm 100% positive it's possible without lev. There's about two or three ways to get there.

Glad to hear that you enjoyed it immensely.

I went and tested this, it took exactly 15 seconds to get there with out lev and that was stopping to think for 5 seconds.

I can also confirm that it is possible to get to the Sprite without levitate or any other magical means. Took me a bit longer than fifteen seconds mind you, closer to a few minutes. But it is doable. Congratulations on your Holy Sword of Kaelaenth.
