Swimming Skill being able to be raised by Swimming?

Since the boat always drops me in the storm sea even after they're fixed, would it be possible to allow swimming skill be raised by swimming? If I had maxed out my swimming skill, I could swim ahead of the boat and get back on. AFAIK, it can only be raised by trainer points, something which I'm lacking due to using them before I knew I could do that.
 
So you can't swim in front of the boat and get back on silly :p
Actually, I'm not sure if it's a bug or what, as several veterans told me they weren't aware of it as they hardly ever swim. It'd be nice to know if it's a bug or not though :)
 
Frogs have a racial benefit of having 200 swimming skill, while everyone else is capped at 100. I dont know all the details for the reasons that exists. Old Old characters have their swimming skill at 200 (from before the frogs were made a playable race on WR) which might be why "veterens" do not notice, and also why it is possible to raise the skill with training points.
 
This NEEDS to be addressed! The pain and suffering I go through to cross small ponds, rivers, and ....oh my GOD!!! that stupid river thing in mistwoods!!! oh the precious seconds it has stolen from me to cross.....oh well, forgot i had Lev, whoops :roll:

This is almost as dire as having chanter pets with TWO weapons! Please see to that issue ASAP! :roll:

Especially when its already considered fixed.

What I'm suggesting is a way to work around the problem even if the boat itself doesn't work. I still don't understand why swimming can only be raised by spending trainer points and the necessary plat :|
