Soloing on SoD is more or less something you do while looking for a group just because grouping is soooooo much better (basically you get 1/2 experience you would get while soloing with 2-6 players, so killing a mob with 6 players and still getting 1/2 xp is pretty insane). Soloing is still nice to avoid "bad groups" or having to run around the world, but I highly recommend grouping. Also, pick out a class that can solo and still is needed in groups (Druid is a pretty good example).
