I started composing fantasy music in 2011, after performing with Video Game Orchestra at Boston Symphony Hall in April. After 20 years of pursuing a strictly classical music career - in just one week I was completely captivated by soundtracks of Final Fantasy VII, Lord of the Rings, Afrika, Metal Gear Solid... Within months after the concert my heart was so full of melodies, I couldn't help but start writing and playing what I came up with. Two years have gone by, and while classical performances and teaching remain a rewarding career, - I now have a dream of sharing my own music too.

"Legends: Fantasy Violin", a collection of 9 original tracks, will be released as a CD and digital download worldwide, and with your help I will be able to cover recording, mixing, mastering, cover design, and the manufacturing of the discs. While the official release is being planned in September 2013, you will be first to receive MP3s, CDs, and special rewards! I always thought it would be awesome to dedicate the music to people who support and love it, and this is a great chance for me to do so.

That this is someone randomly advertising on the forums aside for a moment, what kind of cave is nice enough to live in for a decade- the only way to avoid LoTR for that long? I can see not liking or being exposed to video games (lame), not liking Final Fantasy (extra lame), or not liking FF7 in particular (extra lame and dumb), but avoiding a trilogy of movies that grossed a bazillion dollars world wide based on modern classics that was advertised literally everywhere (Peter Jackson sharpied my penis while I wasn't looking) is so unlikely as to be a lie.

I haven't seen any of the Lord of the Rings. Or Top Gun.

Weekend at Bernie's 2 was pretty good

If you enjoyed Weekend at Bernie's 2 be sure to check out the original. The number of laughs totting around a corpse inspires is really awe inspiring!

Never seen LotR? Ok. Have you ever seen the trailer online or on tv or at the cinema or heard a spot on the radio or seen the Academy Awards or seen/heard Howards Shore interviewed on any of a dozen shows or witnessed any of the commercials that borrowed music or seen a fan video that borrowed the music or any of a hundred other ways you might have been exposed to the music?

Anyone who can say no to all of that up until 2011 leads a strange life.

I have a friend that is in his 40s, and when he gets drunk we call him Bernie. Well, Bernie Tamale to be exact. When he is drunk, he walks around just like Bernie when the music is playing. Drunk, he is also as worthless as Bernie... (His last name looks like Tamale, and he is half Mexican.) TMI probably, but the guy is a riot.

I want Violin lady to give us a shout out on her page for spamming us here. Maybe we will even buy a CD that way.

Uhm :) I didn't mean to spam you guys! - please feel free to remove this thread if someone has admin ways of doing so. I just wanted to say that English is not my first language (I've only been in the US for several years) and the description might have sounded a little confusing :) - of course I saw bits of all the popular movies and video games (even though having no time to actually explore or watch or play) - but what really got me going was the experience of performing that music and being a part of the process together with the composers, which happened in 2011. Before then, - yes, I agree, - we classical musicians do live in a "cave" sometimes and hearing something on TV (or Youtube or Playstation next door) doesn't necessarily touch us the same way as does the music we actually get to perform. Hope this makes it a little clearer somehow - and sorry again for making you feel like I am invading your forum with irrelevant info. Being somewhat lonely in my quest here I just try to reach out to people that might be interested in the music and I will really appreciate any tips on ways to present in a proper way :) Thank you!

P.S. I don't think I'm gonna do a "shout out" :))) but least I can do is share some of my work with you and hope you enjoy it!
