Alright, I had a friend hook me up with SoD, and I was pretty impressed just hanging over his shoulder watching when he played (Im an old EQ player myself). Anyways, I did what the starting guide said. Installed EQ and patched up to LDoN. Downloaded the patcher. Patched it with the SoD one. Started the game up from the patcher.
Heres where it gets wierd. Right after I enter my username/pw, it hangs. Super lag. It'll -eventually- log me into the select world screen, but it takes a good 4 minutes or so. Once I get there, I click enter world, and it loads. Right after that...it just restarts the game from the "SoE" screen at the beginning. Ive talked to my friend and he thinks its completely FUBR, so I tried uninstalling the entire game and doing it again, but to no avail. My computer is pretty hot to trot and had no problems with EQ (when i played about 6 months ago), and dont see why it should be choking so badly now. Im not sure if I missed a step or what, so someone tell me if I F'd up someplace.
So, oh infinitely wise ones....your thoughts?
