Sun-Forged Focusing Ruby Classes

I feel that the item Sun-Forged Focusing Ruby should have Necromancer added the the useable classes. As I understand it now, it has the classes that do fire damage on it (wizard, mage and druid). However, a large portion of necromancers DPS is done with fire based spells. The MotG ruby provides an important step up in the quality of wizards and mages for the rest of the end game, yet this step up only further increases the gap between the DPS of the nuking classes and necromancers. This would increase necromancers DPS ability on the same scale that it increases the wizards and mages, providing for more balanced DPS classes and giving necros something to look forward too in prison until Irandos.

i am not sure it effects dots. Looking at the spell database (the one thats probably wrong but) i don't see any high level fire nukes. still honestly don't know why druids are on there. Like we are gonna sit and nuke on a raid. and like we will nuke with our fire nukes if we have the relic.

the effect on it stacks with damage incriment focus doesnt it? Wouldnt that make it stack with affliction also?

i don't think it affects dots. Dmg increment doens't either. Just the specialization. The dds are the only affected by DI i thnk.

but still druid shouldn't even be on that ruby imo. But thats me :)

I believe that is does affect fire based dots, as the effect on the IP boots Raging Ice affects the archaic (ice) dot.

My druid doesn't have relic nuke and dot and still reaches 200+ dps in outdoor zones on raids. But well, in 2.0 I probably won't have so many opportunities for nuking.
Yet I still love the fire nuke because it's fast casting, even though it has some recast time.
(PS: Don't you ever nuke in xp groups? And not everyone has relic nuke. What if the mobs resist cold? :p)

Adding necros to the ruby - why not.. I don't think that would ruin the balance, the ruby itself isn't very common and with mobs only dropping 2 items it should be even rarer (I think?).

And even if it does, Affliction foci are far superior for DoT's.

Not anymore. That was changed back when dots were given the ability to crit. They're both 3% per rank now.

This is a pretty solid post of requesting the classes that are usable on an item to be reviewed imo. I'd like to see nec's get added

wow i hit my post button and refreshed the page and wiz already replied.. not going to lie but that freaked me out... wiz the stalker :(!

You're too ugly for me to stalk you.

now that i've convinced my guild to get me one, could someone take a look at the effect and possibly make it work on DoT spells? currently it doesnt, but i think it should

Considering, as Zorlaft already stated, the Farg boots affect his cold based Archaic Dot, it wouldnt be unreasonable for this to affect his fire DoTs. Keep up the shit posting in S&R buddy.
