Suggestion for Different High lvl Augs

I'm not sure if this has come up before, couldn't find a search about it.

How powerful would damage reduction augs or FT augs be? I don't think either should be allowed to go past +1. Both effects have a hard cap that augs would not go past, but could be nice to add in to get a char to or closer to the cap.
The augs would be crafted by smith, tailor or jeweler. I know that both effects are desireable so the augs would not likely come cheap, or even could be set at non-trivial if their effect would be that large.

As always, just a thought, feel free to shoot it down out of the sky or tell me that it's been disscussed before (I didn't find it). Details about components can be determined later.

Damage reduction is already available on some quested augs. (Fomelo Tyrone and check out his arms to see one), but a DR +1 aug as a high level recipe sounds like a cool idea to me.

FT used to be on some Thaz augs but was deemed too powerful and changed. I think FT is too powerful an effect to put on an augment you can get multiple copies of, especially one that is tradeskilled. I could maybe see it if it carried a substantial penalty along with the FT, like 1FT and -40mana, but even then it's iffy.

It would always be possible just to make them both lore, and very expensive, (ft augs) which would make them a huge hassle to create, and sell, and their high price would keep them from flooding the market. These measures could implement them, and still keep their rarity.

I honestly never saw a need for crafted FT augs.. but.. if theyre ever implemented, itll likely be an expensive, and very complex process to create.

I like the idea of +ft, -mana augs on principle, but I'm not certain the augment market needs our attention right now.

I think a single lore 1 or 2 FT aug that isnt cheap would help the mid range characters. Once you reach a certain tier of gear your generally going to max FT and at that time your aug wouldnt be any good to you. Unless you wanted to stick it on a piece of situational gear for swapping purposes.
I like this idea and hope it is brought up again after Ikisth is finished and the Dev team has time to consider it.

speaking entirely as player, having an FT aug would be an amazing way to keep yourself at max FT. It's sometimes very difficult to upgrade an item without dropping below cap.

That was a problem I ran into when I only used the druid part time. I was able to increase base hp around 1k and mp by about 1500 at the cost of 5ft.
A single aug would be very nice for me. Random ideas on it:

+1ft -base aug not cheap but not to hard to aquire.
+1ft +15mana -added 15mana which is big for a ft aug. Not cheap and not easy to get
+1ft +3 random saves - everyone loves saves. have to give up a fair ammount of money / time to aquire
+2ft - 2ft is just big, nothing else could go on this aug or its just to powerful in my opinion. hard as all hell to aquire but not impossible for your dedicated player.

anything with FT is win-win in my book. doesnt need to have anything else but it would be icing on the cake.

Is it feasible to make augs with effects like FT maybe + atk etc, dropped by mobs rather than only having quested or TSed augs. I dont remember if the suggestion was made or the situation addressed, but will there ever be aug slots on Primary/secondary items? It would be cool to have slots on those items but make the augs for them rare and have unique effects like FT. Obviously I have not through this out a ton but it has always been something I wondered about.

TBH, I would think jewelry would be a good one for this idea. Limits the slots, and since smithing & tailoring already have a 250+ aug and jewelry doesn't.

Ideas. Make the metal to make them drop like Twisted Ore for Torment forged. Make it use things like plat diamondine, Deepmetal, SS/Imp, does (aka, pain in the ass, farmed stuff). Throw a couple oils in the mix to add FT, ATK, etc. If hp/mana added, require an additional pain in the ass component, that would add to cost (like straight FT would take liquid plat, FT/mana would take a violet ointment).

If drop rate on metal is low, rather than being vendor bought, wouldn't necessarily need to be lore.

I think FT augs should be implemented. Make the recipe require max to all tradeskills with a focus on pottery.

You have the second best sig after Xach's, Buddy.

I think between quest augs and player made augs, there really doesn't need to be a change. The only augs I think she be implemented in the future are Type4 augs, since items have slots for them, but they are not in game.

I remember hearing in the past that type 4 augs were going to be fletching made, since at the time the only thing that had those aug slots were bows.

I really appreciate all the feed back I've gotten thus far about FT augs; all very valid comments...What are some thoughts about the Damage Reduc. augs? Damage reduction caps at 25 iirc which takes the exact amount off the final damage is evaluated (after ATK vs AC/Dodge stuff). Again, I think that the aug itself shouldn't be going past +1 and be a pain to make (like Kero said). Any thoughts?
