Stuck at patcher

When I run the patcher it just hangs at "Patching: files.txt". I have deleted the old files and loaded the patch download and still hangs at this point. I have rebooted my computer and it still does the same thing. Any suggestions?
 
Odd, i'm having the same exact issue right now. It is happening on 2 different machines (one XP and one Vista). Deleted files.txt and repatched all to no avail.
 
I have been having this problem for the last 3 hours, very frustrating. I downloaded the link above, unzipped it to the S0ny>EQ (is this even the patcher folder? sorry im not quite sure), and it finally got me through, but then i got the 1017 error when logging in so I came back to repatch all and i am stuck at Patching:files.txt again. Grrr :(
 
I got both comps in but now one isn't logging in as well (error 1017). Lots of people complaining in OOC. I suspect there is still an issue.
 
Glad to know im not the only 1 then ;)

was hoping I could play on my day off, any idea how one deletes their .txt file? I cant see it in the game directory. I'm not sure if/where i installed it, all i remember doing was zipping it into the game folder.

Go to your start menu and select the search function.
 
Hello, i guess im an idiot. Could someone please explain the process in which to extract the new files, and how to fix this problem. I cant seem to get this to work. Sorry for being a headache.
