stuck at patcher

when i start up the patcher it goes through then it says that it cant find the mss32.dll i dont know what that is i need some help!! :(

this did not work i deleted all the files and it said the same thing. is there any way to re-install it? its the mss32.dll
 
Did you read the other links and try where it talked about certain media players needing to be uninstalled and/or others being set as the default?
 
so i went through deleted all these -- mss32.dll, mssa3d2.m3d, mssa3d.m3d, mssb16.tsk, mssdolby.m3d,
mssds3dh.m3d, mssds3ds.m3d, mssdx7sh.m3d, mssdx7sl.m3d, mssdx7sn.m3d, msseax2.m3d, msseax.m3d,
mssfast.m3d, and mssrsx.m3d. -- and re installed media player 11 am i doing something wrong or did i really screw up the game?
 
Do you use winamp and if so did you set windows media player as your default? What error are you getting now (or are you still getting the .dll error)?
 
yes i set it to default and yeah the exact words of the error is ' this application has failed to start because mss32.dll was not found. re-instaling the application my fix this problem'
 
Try deleting your current mss32.dll file (if you still have one) and download it again here then extracted it into windows/system.

I'm assuming you have the latest version of directX and video card drivers installed?

If by chance you are running Vista you have to make sure you set the program to Run As Administrator.

If none of the above work, I'm running out of suggestions. :(
 
ok i figured out the window/sytem so i extracted it into that file......... but what do u mean by running the program as adminastrator?
 
hah i know wut vista is now as well...but no im on windows Xp but still same error happens after i got the mss32.dll

hopefully u have one more idea :(
 
Copy the mss32.dll into your SoD folder

Just search for sodbin.exe, copy the dll into that folder.
 
so i cant seem to do that and when i try to re try pacthing again a bunch of files pop up on my desktop

also if i complety erased everquest and SoD from my computer and re-installed it would that do anything at all or would that be a waste of time??
