Stuck at loading screen.

After I hit enter world on the character select screen it brings up a shards of dalaya screen and doesn't change music keeps playing though. If I check task manager its shows that *********.exe has stopped responding. I don't see any errors in my dbg.txt file. I have installed SoD on 4 other computers for friends 2x XP 32bit 1x Vista 32bit 1x Vista 64bit with no problems at all. So if anyone has a fix please let me know.


OS=Vista 64bit
Video Card=8800 GTX

Things I've Tried = 3 sets of video drivers, setting affinity to one cpu, reinstalling from scratch.
 
Disable anti-virus if you have that and try again. Using EQW or no? If so try running without and see if it works.
 
The only other thing I can think if would be a corrupt or incompatible UI for that character you're trying to load in(UI_<charname>.ini), or a corrupt eqclient.ini

I would first try deleting the UI ini file, and if you get the same result, try deleting the eqclient.ini and re-logon.
 
ok tried both of those still no change, also tried reinstalling to a different directory but no luck.
 
was looking at dbg.txt and it seems to be hanging with a loop of this ""msg_time_stamp received. (Items inc).""

I don't know if that is normal or not any idea?
 
OK got it to work it was my router that was the problem it was not assigning dmz to the correct computer had to reset it to factory and update the firmware. I guess port forwarding is very important for SOD.

Er, shouldn't be.

Port forwarding is only necessary in peer 2 peer gaming.

You also shouldn't need to have your router setting that computer to a dmz zone.

I can't imagine why moving your computer to the dmz and enabling port forwarding fixed it for you.
 
lol yeah I know it shouldn't matter but it does I can replicate the problem by switching dmz to another computer very odd.
 
i give up .. ive read the forums ive looked online and done everthing is suggested... all i get is the password login screen for eq and that just says invalid pasword ect .. what am i suposed to see when i use the sod patcher / launcer ?? and no sighn of the everquest.exe file .. just the everquest launch button
