String Error 303

My brother tried downloading the trial version of EQ and downloading the SoD patch of this game - had everything Browsed to the right files, but when he hits Patch and Run, it comes up with String Error 303

He doesnt have an actual copy of EQ, but I do. So is it possible for me to install my EQ copy onto his computer so we can both play? Or will that cause a CD Key error or something (which I never needed to enter a CD Key in the first place) ?

(by the way Im a noob here, this is my first post)
 
Need to install, titanium works best since this client uses files from everything up to that point in time.
CD Keys are not an issue here as this is not the pay to play live game.
Do not patch to live btw. Make sure to download the patcher from the main page and use that to patch your client.

I played EQ for 6 years (2000 - 2006). I have the CD's for EQ, Kunark, Velious, Shadows of Luclin, Planes of Power, and Gates of Discord and have downloaded them to my computer.

I ran the SOD patcher and am coming up with this Error 303. Any help appreciated.
 
Did you try to do a full repatch?

Are you using a version up to or before titanium? You could get weird errors if you're using a later version.

Are you able to connect to the internet with IE without problems?

Ok. I'm thinking using the name Staffeq2 is going to be highly confusing to people.

I recommend re-registering for the forum using a new name.
 
im in the same boat, played for close to 5 years, have everything up to GoD, and getting that string error
 
Ok, so here is what I did. I renewed my subscription to EQ just to get the patches for the two expansions I realized I was missing (ykesha and LDoN were digital downloads I made when I played, so I didn't have CD's for those).

Ok, got all that patching done (holy cow, did that take forever) and then started up SOD. Patched SoD fine, got past where I was having the Error 303 and got to the seizure warning screen. GREAT! Or so I thought.

Well, I tried to click the "OK" button on the seizure warning screen to continue, and the cursor looked as if it went under the smaller window that contained the seizure warning message. I couldn't click the "OK" button to get past the seizure warning screen.

Any ideas?

I'll register again with a different forum name when I can get these problems ironed out.
 
Ok. gonna start a new thread with my issue so that I'm not derailing the OP with his/her problem.
 
Also getting string 303 error and suggestions in FAQ do not work

I am getting string 303 error not found and game crashes as soon as patcher is done. I have tried to repatch all, have deleted the eq_en.txt file (i may have spelled it wrong here, but I know it was the one suggested in the FAQ) repatched all, etc. Anybody have any other suggestions for this?
 
Please don't just post on old threads. Start a new thread with ALL info.

What retail version did you install? What is your path to the .exe on the SoD patcher?
