Strange error..... happend after getting new IE

First off this computer has run Sod.... like a day ago...... so everything should be fine i updated my internet exploryer now i keep getting this msg

unable to contact server with dignositc information! please check your internet explorer settings and make shure you can connect to sod.com

-can conect to sod.com
-changed any setting i could still nothin.....

Just for reference, the game (and I believe the patcher) uses IE's settings to know how to connect to sod. If you can't connect to sod using IE, generally the game (and the patcher I think) won't work either.
