Still stuck at eqstr_us.txt

I've had this problem since I first was getting setup last week. The problem is the patcher just gets stuck on eqstr_us.txt I've tried reinstalling (and patching from live) the game. I've also tried deleting files.txt and doing repatch all, with no luck. I've been able to play the game (but with lots of quirky things like string not found etc) by downloading the manual patch off the dalaya main page and then just running eqw directly. I'd like to be able to run the patcher as intended but just can't unless someone can help figure out why. Here's some other information:
-I disable firewall to run patcher
-I'm on xp sp2, fully patched except for the .net stuff
-am running .net 1.1

I thought I'd go ahead and try it again today. Tried it and it hung up on eqfeart1.pak this time. So I went ahead and deleted files.txt and had it repatch all and it hung on the same file, eqfeart1.pak. Any thoughts?

Not sure if this will help, just a thought but maybe save eqfeart1.pak, delete it and try again.

Thanks for the suggestion! I tried it but had no luck. The patcher still just hung on that file again. I let it sit there for 10min or so in case it was like a super huge file or something. Still no luck :/

Any other ideas on how I can get the patcher to work? In the interim I'll keep logging in by using eqw directly.
