Steam download

Hello all. I plan to be starting this game within the near future and am curious as to which version to download from steam. If I download the underfoot expansion from that sight, will it be compatible with this server? I don't want to pay and download the wrong game. Any tips would be much appreciated. Thanks and I am looking forward to meeting / playing along side you all soon.

It should work - I bought Seeds of Destruction off steam about a year ago and it worked mostly fine (I was missing a few textures), and Underfoot is the expansion after that so... it should work! I can't guarantee it, but from my experience you should be a-ok.

Thank you for the feedback. How long is the download from steam and then the patch to SoD? Also, are there any speical instructions for windows 7?

I use the underfoot compilation from steam. It had most textures and npc models, and I was missing only a few zonefiles (the ones for Mistwoods, Dreadfang Spire, and Thazeran's Tower, whatever zonefiles those use), but I was able to justify getting the few missing files from someone else knowing that I had legitimately paid for those files and should have received them.

Huh. I've had issues with those files with my steam installation as well, but I just copied working copies from my old computer. I figured it was just a fluke, though.
