This is one of the rewards from the Grobb newbie SK questline. My question is: could the ac be bumped substantially? It's a breastplate, so why not give it the ac of a base plate (17)? On a related note, for whatever reason, the inventory icon is a chain coat graphic, rather than plate...
 
What level did you find yourself completing this quest? Or rather, what level would you expect players to complete this quest? The item was designed primarily with that in mind. I didn't design the item myself, or the quest, but the person who did had a fairly good handle on items in the game at that point.

Keep in mind though that this quest was designed around 3 years ago, so it's possible twink items have surfaced since that make it less desirable. Are you saying this is the case, and a player would never want to do this quest if they knew their options open to them?
 
I'm a little fuzzy as to what level I was when I completed this quest =/ granted, it certainly was not a high level (10ish?), but I guess what I'm saying is that for a tank, having 12ac on your chest at any level is pretty painful---Silvered Plate Breastplate in Shrouded Isle (18ac pristine with stats), or the Beetle Queen's carapace off of the adept in CH both seem like better choices. Or why not just buy a regular old 17ac plate for a few plat off of the armor vendor?
 
the stats make it better than the 17 ac plate bp.

now if it was just 12ac i see your point.

but 20 Hps and int and agi i think make up for 5ac at that level. i could be wrong tho.
