Normally a person would say that using a cella and an offhand would be a better solution since its tiers apart. Unfortunately this is not the case. Currenly using tier 13 1hers is giving me these stats

Mana - 550 (only 50 mana more than spire)
HP - 520 ( 120 more than spire )
CHA - 31 (Spire has 40)
INT - 33 [ spire has 0 ]
WIS - 33 [ spire has 40 ]
STA - 66 (75 on spire)

MR [ 32 ], FR [ 17 ], CR [ 17 ], PR [ 32], DR [ 32 ] (VS 10 disease, 60 MR, 10 poison )

4 Crit Strike [ vs 0 on spire ]
+10 damage reduction
-2 agression (proc is already agression -)
10 stun resist
3 ft (2 on spire)
15+ 1hb
and 0 AC [ spires has 50 << AC, 10 mindshield and 2 spellward ]
Spire also has HEALING 8 with +5 alteration

So basically for 2 tiers of difference you are getting +50 mana, +120HP, less cha (doesnt matter), more int, less wisdom, less stamina, more crit strike , more damage reduction, stun resist, 1 more flowing thought, 15 1hb, and 0 ac.

The issue at hand is that the spire gives you healing 8, 5 alteration, and a proc that with its less frequency should heal a lot more with a lesser cost of mana to the user. As it stands now the mana cost of the cella (the cella will cost you 50 mana everytime you proc) vs the 0 mana that the proc will cost you on the Spire makes the cella not worth it for practically everyone that can use it.

Please reconsider again for the 100th time lowering the mana consumption of the cella dramatically and increasing the healing output so that using the cella is worthwild over a spire.

the healing output of cella is not terrible per-say it's very consistent compared to spire however the mana drain on cella is just ridiculously unbalanced and makes it unusable by anyone but maybe a shaman on a raid boss.

spire does have heal 8 and alteration mod however you can easily get the 5 alteration from 4.3 offhand to go with cella and the heal 8 off of multiple other items by the time you can get a cella. infact having your heal 8 on a slower 2h limits you from switching out your weapon and losing the heal 8 until the next tier.

120 hp and 50ish mana (Depending on which offhand you're using) honestly is a pretty good gain over the weapon slots. another ft and some other stats honestly... the overall stat gains are not a problem comparing the 2 weapons.

the only problem i have with cella is simply it drains an INSANE amount of mana unsustainable by anyone which makes the item useless other than a stat stick. i'd personally rather have it be a dps proc that doesn't heal but make it the best dps proc out of all the priest weapons and then you'd have to resort back to using the spires for its heal/inferior stats.

tl;dr stat gain isnt problem with cella vs spire, the fact the heal proc isnt even close to sustainable is and it should be changed.

i was the first person to get this item and the first iteration of it drained 20 mana per target per proc. i deemed it unusuable at 20 mana. now it's 50. and, well, no one uses it. not to melee with anyways. it's literally often a detriment to melee with a cella - the game went full circle from trying to add litttle things to promote healers meleeing and doing things other than just staring at red bars, to making it a DETRIMENT to melee. bizarre.

i would be pleased if it were just changed to circle of healing or zealots strike. it wouldn't make much sense as the primary dps weapon since that already exists in another item specifically made for that purpose (and also gutted via nerfs by a dev other than the one who created it)

being realistic though, i would be okay if both items (and throw in crystalis) just got the Screaming Lance treatment.

Cella just needs a proc that isn't detrimental to use. It doesn't have good enough stats for it to be a gimmick bad proc weapon so right now it is just kind of terrible.

Joke option give it -24 FT instead of the mana drain

How about lower the procc rate on cella to 10% lower the mana cost to 10mana or just get rid of the mana cost.

being realistic though, i would be okay if both items (and throw in crystalis) just got the Screaming Lance treatment.

Profound sadness. Only recently did I become aware of the fact that screaming lance was worse than the haegra malath lance, by quite a bit. :*(

the "screaming lance treatment" was similar to solanerus - rather than improve the item to be usable, it was simply made incredibly rare. i do not know why.

while we're discussing bad weapons though, i'd like to throw in this one:

Perditrix, Truncheon of Undoing
Skill: 2H Blunt Atk Delay: 44
DMG: 84
Effect: Draught of Fire (Melee Proc, 7.7%)
STR: +55 DEX: +45 STA: +35 CHA: +35 AGI: +25 HP: +345 MANA: +275
SV FIRE: +60
Critical Strike: +4%
Recommended level of 65.
WT: 2.7 Size: Giant

this weapon is simply too weak for what it drops from. it parses similar to divus sicarius from melek taus. i think this could be remedied by increasing the proc rate a bit and adding a skill mod to it - maybe 10 evo or 10 2hblunt. another possibility is giving it some elemental damage, say 10 Fire damage. This may put it in line with other weapons of the same tier.
