Spell won't update

The new spell Gleam of Light for paladins reads to me as level 255, and unusable. I'm told the problem is on my end, but I've run the patcher to no avail. I tried deleting the files.txt and repatching, but that didn't help. any suggestions?

Just out of curiousity, does it show the same no matter what zone you're in?

Check what it says if you're in snp for example. It could help us trace down the problem.
 
It reads the same in Oasis, Sundered, mop, athica, gfay, snp, nnp. Seems the same across the map.
 
I would first make sure to isolate that the problem is the patcher. Have a friend send you their updated spells_us file and put it in your directory. If that does not work it may not be the patcher.
 
Logged in on someone elses computer, and it was fine, so I got their spells_us file, but it still doesn't work. I uninstalled and re-installed the game as well, and it still an unknown spell.

Fixed at long last!

When your spell files fail to patch, make sure they havent become read-only.

Right click the file,
goto properties.
Under General tab look for Attributes
If Read Only is checked, then uncheck it and Apply.

What was the problem? What did you do that fixed it?
 
I recently got an additional hard drive and installed the sod on the new one. Looking back on it, it was my fault, but I had the game patching to my new hard drive, and executing from my old hard drive. So it was me not paying attention. Thanks for the help :)
