Spell: Maelstrom of electricity

This level 60 spell goes for 486 platinum in Eurdin when all other level 60 spells are 3 platinum. Is this inteded? Is there something special about this AE spell other than it does 750 damage?
 
Each class has two spells that are more expensive than the others. They used to be over 1kpp!
 
Sirocco does 770+ damage and its a level 55 rain spell in the 3 waves that already can hit up to 3 other targets, why should I buy this spell if I can just cast this?

Especially when Flamecall is level 61, probably costs less, and does more damage.
 
It does more damage than Sirroco and is more mana efficient. It's only 500pp ... it's not an overwhelming upgrade, but these spells are also remnants of when 60 was the max level and they were top of the line store-bought spells. If you don't like it or think you'll use it, don't buy it.

Rabb never bought the AE HoT that's at level 60 because I couldn't afford it, and I never really missed it.
 
Wow I thought mala and DS were the expensive ones, I guess I was wrong.

It never hurts to buy rains since they're very mana/aggro/damage efficient for a mage, so I suggest you buy it. I still use it all the time ( :tinfoil: )
 
Btw, Flamecall might do more damage. But keep in mind that it is point blank! So you gotta be in the middle of the crowd you are nuking and you will get stomped for that!
 
I have found it to be a great spell. Does more dmg for less mana, and 500 for it is not alot imo.
 
The dmg : mana ratio on rain spells can't be beat for mages... even when casting on a single target. And if you can get 2 in the blast radius, then it gets yummy.
