Speed Bug

The game speeds up horridly. Everything looks like something out of a Benny Hill episode.
Zoned to Centaur Hills. Having the same Benny Hill type of issue. Major Graphics distortion too.

I have been playing for months, and this has never happened to me before. I already had installed EQ Play Nice and the other one to be able to run a Dual Core Processor without glitching up on me.

Did something in the latest patch somehow undo the patch I installed to be able to play with a Duo Core processor or something? I've been playing regularly since June, with no issues, until now.

I tried camping to desktop, and opening it back up again, with the same result.

Are you running a dual or quad core processor? Need to bind the game to one of the cores when you bring up patcher. Did you try searching the forums for a possible anwser?

Yes and Yes. I found the Speed Bug issue in the FAQ months ago, and took steps to correct it. Apparently whatever latest patch also un-fixed what I fixed. I have since re-fixed it, and it works again.

As an aside: Anyone using a duo or quad core processor: The patch may have unset your settings to run on only one processor, and may have interfered with the AMD Processor Optimizer patch. You may need to reset the patcher, and you may need to reinstall the patch for your Optimizer to get Shards to work properly again.

Until last night, I hadn't had the speed bug since installing the AMD dual core optimizer a year and a half ago. Binding affinity to one core fixed the problem. I haven't tried reinstalling the optimizer yet.
