While the hunters prepare for their next kill, I was thinking it might be fun and good for building community to invite dalaya to some events we're hosting. We are accepting donations of items or plat to give as prizes in the tournament, if you have something you're not too attached to and wish to help our cause, you can contact me in-game, PM, or AIM. Here are some ideas I was tossing around:

Fighting Tournament (Location: Newport Arena):

people who are interested will post their lvl/class and I will pair them up with other participants for the first rounds and then set up a bracket. There may be different divisions for the brackets if we have a wide range of levels applying. The winner shall recieve a prize.

Pet Royal Rumble! (Location: Newport Arena)

I will set up rounds with similar level pet classes who will then send their pets out to duke it out in the arena! The event shall go as follows

-I will set up groups of pet classes and put the players on the outskirts of the arena
-The participants will then summon a new pet of their choosing
-When the rumble begins, the participants will have 10 seconds to cast whatever they want on any of the pets participating, this means you can start the fight off DOTing one of the pets, or casting a DD, or maybe buffing your pet or debuffing another.
-After these five seconds, the only actions that a player may perform is ordering their pet with commands.
-The last pet standing wins a prize
-Any further action by a player will result in a disqualification.

Scavenger hunt! (Location: to be disclosed)

-I will give a time to be on, at this time I will announce to everyone in game where the event will be, this is to prevent someone from simply gathering the items beforehand. Be sure to bring a backpack to hand into me with the items I requested inside (Is it possible to do this? If it's not I'll figure out an alternative)
-When we are all there, I shall give the list of items that I want found.
-First person to collect all the items and turn them into me shall win a prize.

If you have a few suggestions for events you think the Hunters could host let me know through PM.

If you would be interested in attending one of these events, post here so I can see who we have. This should be great fun if it goes as planned :) Thanks for your time guys.
 
The Freeport Arena sounds like a pretty bad place to have a tournament considering it's crawling with high level undead at all times...

Also, most spells have a casting time longer than 5 seconds, may I suggest giving 10 seconds for casting before the pet rumble?

And yes I was debating whether I should have i at 5 or 10 seconds, and I had opted for five keeping lower levels in mind, but you're probably (meaning pretty much certainly) right, and I should move it up to ten seconds. What do you think about the lower level pet class spells, think they need 10 seconds as well? Yeah, now that I think about it even if they get a chance to cast more spells in that time, the overall effect on the outcome will be the same, so yes good call wiz.

Other than that do you think the pet classes should be balanced enough to make this viable or should I throw in some equalizers?

edit: can we use pet specific AA's during the fight?

edit2: also ill come to the fighting tourney, im pvp already =D
 
Suggestion

Funny, I was just wondering the other day if anyone ever does things like Naked Gnome Runs on this server. Have never had a chance to do one, so that would be my suggestion...

But you don't use your own character for that, so maybe that's not the type of thing you have in mind.
