Soulbound Buffs

I read in Wiz's post regarding Adventuring Bands "Soulbound buffs"

Being a n00b, and after searching these here forums using all terms (soul bound, soul bind, soulbind, soulbound, etc) I have come up with nothing.

Would one of you kind veterans explain what these are, and how to get them please.

Are there any level requirements, or any limits on what can and can't be used in the way of buffs.
What sort of cost is involved?
If you needed to change one later, how would you go about it?

Basically the whole nine yards.

Thanks.

From the Wiki:
This ability makes the next beneficial duration spell you cast Soulbonded. A Soulbonded spell cannot be dispelled, and will remain even if the target dies. It will wear off normally when its duration runs out.

It is an AA available only to certain caster classes (maybe all, I'm not sure).

Also available for hybrid classes, tho I wouldn't consider it being one of the 500 first AA to get :toot:

What about SoulBound COTP Gea? :D

Gea has it :p

And yes, clerics, druids, shamans, enchanters, mages, beastlords and rangers get souldbond in class AAs.
It works for buffs that last at least 30 minutes (I think it's 30). It has a refresh time of 1 hour 12 minutes.
They can also soulbind lower level spells on whomever, they just have to last long enough to meet the criteria.
Soulbound buff isn't any longer or more powerful than any non-soulbond, it just doesn't wear off when you die. You can have up to 5 sb buffs at a time.
Spells that would normally overwrite a buff will overwrite it no matter whether it's sb or not.

Hopefully I answered what was asked.

Thanks all, that has answered everything I think

Now I just need 20 levels and about 900*level 50... :D

and the buffs will wear off according to Duration Increment item they have, and the Duration increment AAs

So a full Duration Inc clerics Relic Aego lasts something like 9 hours. thats with Duration 7 and max duration increment AAs

SB buffs can poof on you if your buff slots are all full and a mob does a dot or root or whatever on you. I'm not sure what dictates which buff slot a mob debuff/dot/root/snare/whatever will go but I've lost many of SB buffs from it. Also it's an extremely useful AA that saves time and everyone loves it. All clerics, druids, shamans, and enc's(in the raid scene at least) should be shooting for this AA as soon as they can.

If your slots are full and you get a AE DoT or Root or what ever from the mob, the 1st slot will be replaced with the harmfull spell. So you should ask/cast a minor buff first (like DS) on the 1st slot and some other stuff (like COTP) then get Raego / JB / EOTW etc...

I kinda disagree with you as to get this AA "as soon as you can", since i dont see why I should get it, beeing a druid without WoN (relic potg). Only a handfull of ppl (casters) will get it over focus anyway...

well if you want to continue to rebuff everytime you wipe in a group then by all means, skip the AA. This is not only useful for raids, but for groups too, and really anything you do. Speaking from an enchanter pov, you absolutely need this AA as soon as you can manage it, especially if none of your clerics has a lifeward.

As a cleric, it's very low on my list as well. If someone dies, I can rez, re-aego, and med to full before the shaman/druid/enchaters are finished buffing (that's skipping the soulbonded Focus and KEI). If the raid wipes, I can med to full, re-BoA, and med to full again before the other buffs are done. It wouldn't save anything but a click, and some summoned peridots.

I'll admit, soulbound KEI is extremely nice for mana regen after a wipe or after you die as an ench. Soulbond is also great for someone else to have to get buffs from a class that won't be grouping/raiding with you, but otherwise it's just a minor convenience for the toon that has it.

I would get Soulbond as a cleric as soon as I'm done with healing AAs. It's a peridot saver, and having a non-dispellable Aego is quite nice.

This does not mean skip your healing AAs and whatnot, but you certainly want it AFTER all of your "just gotta have it" AAs are done with. No excuse not to have it at that point i.e. don't go wasting your AAs on innate crap when SB is far more useful. But if it's so hard to spend those 9 AAs then get what you will. Enc wise you had better get it as soon as you can because take it from me, you'll go insane rebuffing your kei/jb/mr/whatever every 15 or 30 minutes when someone dies or a raid wipes or whatever.

As a Shaman I recommend you get it asap, it makes really a big difference.

Of course first the most useful AAs (Canni, Slow, Healing Increments, Wis cap raisers) and after SB. I Just got it at AAs 110-119 :)
