Soul debt removal typo

I paid the 2p to get the soul debt removed last night, and when I gave him the money, the message "you have lost 2,000 platinum" came up. When I looked in my inventory, it had only taken the two. (I didn't have 2k to be taken anyway.) I didn't think this was worth reporting as a bug since it just seems to be a little typo, but if I put this in the wrong place, sorry.

I had that happen to me when I was lower level as well. I believe it was something like 2349 platinum pieces. Once the healer required 50 pp, the message was fine again.

I thoought it might have meant copper, so I double checked, and it definitly said you have lost 2,000 "platinum". I took a screenshot, but I had not made a screenshot folder yet, and I haven't been able to find where the screenshots go by default. If someone can let me know, then I can post it.

I'm not sure how it works, but I know that when I personally take screenshots I've had to take one and immediately dump it into photoshop, or I'll loose it when I take the next.

An in-game screenshot (minus key on the numpad) creates a .bmp file called EQ0000XX.bmp in your base EQ directory. If you're using the prtscr feature, that's windows-based and saves the image to your clipboard. In that case you need to paste it into an image viewer and save it as a file or lose it.

Awesome! Thanks again for the info Hasritt!

Ok I found my screenshot. I can not get it to upload to imageshack. My computer stops responding every time I try. If somebody can tell me how to post a screenshot on the forum, I will put it up here. Also, is there a way I can change the default save location from the main folder to the screenshots folder I created? Thanks.

EQ screenshots are saved as .bmp

bitmaps are gigantic and usually are not internet-friendly. Try converting it to a jpg

What Cayleu said. Bitmap files are large-- 1mb or more (depending on your resolution). That means it's going to take a long time to upload and, depending on your computer, browser, and the website you're using, they may lock up your computer until they finish.

You can use MS Paint to convert them to .jpg format (file > save as, then change file type). Alternately, you can use teh bestest image viewing software in the history of the universe, downloadable from www.irfanview.com ... it rocks your socks.

Converting the images into .jpg format will knock them down to a couple hundred KB (again, depending on your resolution), and you can further shrink them by selecting the part of the image you want via click-and-drag, then copying and pasting into a new image and saving that as a .jpg.
