Some questions on a Mage, Shaman and Monk.

Just wondering where I should place my stats.
I ran around a bit with my Shaman and cast some spells on mobs, only to have them resisted.

So as a Shaman do I just dump everything into Cha with the rest into Sta?

How about Mage? Cha and rest into Int?

I assume for a Monk I toss everything into Str and rest into Sta?

Anyone have any race suggestions?

Also do all races start in the same city here? I know we all start in the dream but after that, will my Iksar and Human start in the same city?

Thanks much!

I'm pretty sure all Iksars (and Trolls) will start in Grobb. Not so sure about humans, but I think that all of them start in Newport, except for Druids and Rangers, who start in Surefall Glade.

I went all STA and then STR for my monk.

all CHA for monk. high end your gear will max your melee stats... but few have maxed CHA, which helps with resisting spells.

Highly depends on how far you want to go. If you're planning on going eventually into the extreme high end? Place it in agility. That's one of the stats on a mage that is difficult as hell to max. Stamina can be maxed towards the high end, cha will definitely be maxed over hs cap, and int maxes ludicrously early.

That sounds like a painful 64 levels trying to get to the end game.

I guess it depends if one is only thinking the end game or if one is trying to get TO the end game.

I don't think 30 stat points are going to run your leveling. When i started on SoD I had never played EQ before and I had no idea how the stats worked for each class. If you look at Tyrone and math out his starting stats they went to int, sta, WISDOM and STRENGTH and I leveled him to 65 just fine. Now he's one of the best wizards on the server.

It might have been easier with more cha/int but it certainly wouldn't have been impossible even if i had dumped them all into dex.

CHA does not help with resisting spells, resists help with resisting spells.

CHA does help with overcoming mob resists with spells (and procs?)
