some item-based elemental damage questions

I understand that on DoTs, damage from items get distributed across the duration of the spell with the leftover being added to the final tick, but what about spells like poison DoTs that have a direct damage component? Does the DD component get the benefit of the damage from the item as well as the DoT?
For example if scourge of life normally does a 150 damage dd followed by 4 ticks for 800 dmg, and I am wearing an item that gives 10 poison damage, would that make it a 160 damage dd followed by 3 ticks for 802 and 1 tick of 803? Or would it be just 150/802/803?

The same applies for many disease DoTs and some chanter magic based DoTs as well I believe.

Also, what about magic damage applying to grasp of spirits? That's a splurt-like magic low damage DoT with a root component that has a random duration. Would all the magic damage just be added to the last tick, or does magic damage just not apply to this spell?

On a related note, (I guess someone has probably asked/answered this before, but may as well make this thread thorough) does elemental damage from items get applied to each wave of a rain or only on one wave? Is it one wave/target?

Last question is how elemental damage on weapons works with respect to spells; obviously elemental damage on weapons works for the ratio of the weapon, but does it also apply to spell damage?

So, does elemental damage on gloves and boots also get added to spells like weapons?

Speaking of gloves, does elemental damage on gloves get applied to only bare fists or does it get applied to h2h attacks made with a weapon?
