Solid Black Screen after Patch

I just reinstalled EQTitanium and patched it using SODPatcher and it does launch with out any errors, except I do get a solid black screen with a gold arrow mouse pointer.

I can move it around the screen but it looks like it is going behind another invisible black box. If i right click I can turn the arrow into a gold cross and there are no pop ups.

I have scoured the forums here and have not found anything related to it.

Here is some background on what I am running

Windows 7 64 Bit Home Premium
12gb Ram
2x MSI GX260 Graphics Cards
Killer NIC 1gb


yes, I have tried running it in admin mode, both in and out of EQW does the same thing. I have checked the ports on my router to allow all incoming and outgoing for the game.

Anyone have any ideas? I appreciate any assistance that I can get to solving this problem.

I had this problem when I first reinstalled the client.

The problem that I was having was that the SoD patcher was not updating the file correctly for me.

I had to download the patcher directly into the EQ folder then run it.

After that it was just a matter of launching the game.

it did frustrate me for quite a while, I ended up going through the entire wiki and Technical Support page looking for similar problems.

I guess I lucked out figuring it out. Maybe this will help someone else along the line.
