SoDWiki's "Spam Protection Filter"

Forgive me for posting a wiki-related problem here, but I can think of no other recourse. Just a short while ago, I cobbled together a simple and clean table listing the new Beastlord warder/race combinations and also spruced up the opening of the article. However, when I went to submit my work, I was met with the following:

The text you wanted to save was blocked by the spam filter. This is probably caused by a link to a blacklisted external site.
The following text is what triggered our spam filter: <br>

Nothing is listed following that colon except what appears to be a broken break marker. Furthermore, nothing in my revamp links to any such external site. Following this, I went to trusty ol' Rari's discussion page to leave her a message regarding the issue. I took a good 10 minutes fine-tuning the message (one comes to mind one's p's and q's and especially one's brackets when it comes to Rari's domain on the wiki!), then I hit the submit button and...

:psyduck: Yes, an identical message. My attempt at improving an article was thwarted by this "spam protection filter," and then my follow-up attempt to seek help with this filter problem was also thwarted by said filter. Thus, the next logical outlet seemed to be here.

Anyway, this is new to me. Is this anti-spam filter faulty, perhaps? Or am I doing something wrong? Shall I share the wiki code of my revamp for review, including the table? For now, I'll put it in safekeeping on my hard drive. (Then again, if there were a problem specifically with my work on the Beastlord article, that does not explain why I was unable to leave Rari a message; the problem seems to be deeper.)

Are you using a <br> in your submission? A few different HTML tags are blocked due to spammers and <br> is one of them.

That means you're editing a page that hasn't been converted to the new format yet. Look for <br> somewhere in your edit window (not necessarily in the part of the page you're editing) and remove it.

Grinkles! Good to see you around, thanks for making that page, it seems to be a constant question in ooc, be great to have a reference so I can accurately answer!

This was the case. There were a couple of rogue <br>'s in the article that were already in place prior to my edit, and as I left them untouched, they triggered the filter. Many thanks to all those who replied!

(Now, when do we get Gnome Beastlords with the choices of a) a clockwork rat, b) a clockwork spider, or c) a clockwork bug? Get on it, Jumbers & Co.!)

Behold, the new Beastlord article!

P.S.: As for you, Monsieur Slibu (or is it Dian again these days?), I'll pop in and say hi soon.

this is why I don't do work in browser windows. I do it in notepad and ctrl-a ctrl-c ctrl-v.

sorry for the delayed reply on this but my bot will be running for the next few days (you can see bot actions on wiki's recent changes by selecting show bots) to replace as many existing <br> with <br /> as possible (which doesn't conflict with the spam filter.) i don't have a solid way to add "all pages" to my bot, but it should check most of them (its looking at the last ~15000 pages i edited, duplicates removed.)

if you continue to have trouble with this issue after my bot finishes its run (it may take a few days, not sure yet) you can make this replacement on a page-by-page basis manually as you come to it.
