SODBIN Crashing when trying to patch.

sodbin.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

That's all it gives me. Tried disabling firewalls, antivirus, ad blockers, everything... no dice.

Any clue?

Windows XP Home SP2
Intel P4 (ht) Legacy Processor
 
Before the game even loads up...the patcher says something along the lines of "Getting file list" or something like that and then that error pops up. Then the patcher crashes and closes.

Tried everything I can think of...

During the phase of patching where the patcher says, "Getting patch list." it is downloading a list of files that are used currently by SoD. Make sure that you can get to http://www.shardsofdalaya.com/patcher/files.txt in Internet Explorer. IE and the SoD patcher will use the internet settings configured in windows, if these setting are incorrect the patcher won't work (even if Firefox works fine).
 
I can't see what the patcher says in this screenshot. Can you confirm that it says, "Getting patch list."?
 
This looks like a .net framework 2.0 error dialog. Do you have .net framework 1.1 installed?
