SoD restarting

FIrst off just wanted to say Hello!
Now onto the troubles. I have everything installed correctly, can get to the server selection screen just fine using either EQW or standard. But when I click play on the server it just loops back to the SOE screen then login. Anyone have this trouble?

You're able to login though?

Almost sounds like it's crashing or timing out. Have you played before? Are you creating a new character, setting the name, setting the stats, then going to enter when it quits and loops back to the login?

If that's what is happening, what expansions do you have? The starting zone for everyone is The Dream, which is using one of the Planes of Power zones. If you don't have the PoP expansion, you won't be able to create a character.

He cannot even make it to the character selection screen to create a character. Gets to the server selection screen, hits join, it pauses and its as if he just opened SoD with the soe symbol coming up =/ any ideas ??

He used the exact same game files and method of installation as myself. We both run vista 64 bit and have no idea what is causing this. I had no issues with installation or execution

Do you have a router, or firewalls turned on? You may need to enable the port on the router. Or, at the very least, make an exception for sod in settings of any firewall.
